Former EFL Strikker not convinced !!

Recommended Posts

We are 3rd highest goalscorers in the league, with the best GD

"3 games 38 goals ( a goal every 1.6 games)

Goal diff 20.

OK we have not been scoring for fun over the last 5 games, but neither have the other two

23 games to go, anything can, and probably will, happen before the end of the season.

That should read 23 games

I do think he has a point in that I agree we haven’t “hit the right formula”, especially in the final third.

That said, even without hitting the right formula we are still picking up points at a rate that would typically see us go up in the top 2.

Imagine what will happen if we do click like we did in the second half of last season? Go on a similar run of form like we did then and we’ll win the league.

Not sure I place too much weight on the lazy comments of an ex lower league journeyman.

Of late, we've dried up a bit in front of goal, but scored 2 yesterday, still only scored 4 fewer than the league leaders, conceded fewer and have the second best goal difference.

Yeah saw that, he based it on us not scoring many in the last 5 games saying Ipswich & Plymouth we’re far better

Points in the last 5

Plymouth 8

Ipswich 10

Wednesday 9

******** idiot.

I kind of agree with Parkin.

We seem to be relying on our midfielders to get the goals. 12  goals from between Smith, Gregory and Windass in half a season isn't great.

I think part of the problem is the lack of quality balls into the box.

We really need to get the forwards contributing.

In 10 of our 23 games we have score 2 or more goals, 8 games we have scored 1 and 5 games we have failed to score.

Of the game we scored 2 or more we took 26 points out of 30, 8 wins, 2 draws

From the 13 games we score 1 or less we got 5 wins, 5 draws and 3 losses getting 20 points.

For i think the big issue is lack of service to the front two and too many shots from silly positions. Only 4 shots on target yesterday but scored twice but we had 19 shots. 15 were not on target, even yesterday first was a shot off target that hit Byers and went in.

He's not exactly wrong is he.

We are not the most convincing of sides atm, but then our accrual of points is very, very good.

Makes you wonder what we could do if we did really start to click and find a proper rhythm. Tbf to Moore, we have improved defensively and are now more capable of grinding out a win when required.

We are right in the mix, just not really performing at the level (in an attacking sense) that most of us would like to see.
