What do we think to these alleged wages?

Recommended Posts

Never heard of the site, nor can I vouch for it's accuracy - but thought it may make interesting reading?

According to this (it may be wrong) 17 of the top 100 earning players in League One play for SWFC. Couldn't see Michael Smith's name on it, so either he earns less, or it's not completely up to date (although Ihiekwe is on it).

There you go again, slating Palmer - who earns the same at Paterson, but contributes a lot more.

I don't think Patterson deserves 12k either, but he has played in the top division and is a technically better player than Palmer.

So the player ranked 100th on the list of top earners in the 3rd tier of professional football in this country earns slightly less than ten times the annual salary of a newly qualified nurse. That's disgraceful! 🤬

Don't worry though, the Tory govt says that nurses pay is just fine as it is. Too right; they got clapped every week during lockdown, but are they grateful? Oh no, now they're  demanding extra money to pay for luxuries like food and heating that are rightly the preserve of the upper classes!

Without getting into politics (there is a section for that) I don't think we can blame them for what football clubs pay their players, footballers earn pretty much more than anybody.
