Injuries? Why do we seem to have continuing injury problems? (Kieran Lee plays nearly every match for Bolton!)

Without Bannan and Byers , the heart of the side is removed?

Smith & Gregory are not getting the crosses and service they should be?

Windass? Are you for or against right now? Is he worth a starting place?

Marv and Hunt year on year no where near as effective? Past it?

FDB transfer talk effecting his match performance in recent times? Sort a contract or say bye bye?

Pato rumours on the way out in January? Are we worried?

McGuinness god forbid could be recalled by Cardiff in January? What then?

Dawson v Stockdale. Pros and cons. Dawson loved by Exeter fans. Is Stockdale past it actually? OR?

January is a chance for DM to be bold and bring in fresh blood? But, has his recruitment been good actually in 2022?

What do you think of the assistants/support to DM? Is DM too conservative/cautious? Formation/tactics?

 

As things stand.......is this the best starting line up we have until January at least?

You start by looking at wing back and see the clear inbalance between left (where we get plenty of service) and the right (where it is awful).

Press high up the pitch early on. This is 3rd division football, nobody is good enough to play out from the back. Force mistakes.

 

If Smith is on the pitch, get it wide and get it crossed, quickly. Leave somebody on halfway, or even 2,  for opposites corners. Our keeper catches it, delivers it,  we're on the attack.

I suggested selling Windass in the summer and got laughed at. Luxury player without the luxury. Get rid. 
 

Champ Mgr stuff but send Mighten back, farm out Wilks on loan and do a deal to get Dele Bashiru away. Body language tells me he doesn’t want to be here and if he signs a pre contract for someone in January we don’t want him in the building. 
 

That will free up some decent wages. Pace up front, centre half and width. The whole thing needs a freshen up.

Definitely need to freshen things up in January. Our problem is that I don’t think our impact players off the bench are any good. Crying out for some pace and guile off the bench today, but don’t think Wilks or Mighten are up to it.

Hard to disagree with especially the last 3 points,  the lack of urgency and intent in the first hour today was criminal.

The trouble with that question is when people answer with suggestions it gets greeted with calls of “you are deluded” and “no wonder other clubs fans think we’re arrogant”.  
 

It all depends on what Chansiri can offer which we as supporters aren’t privy too. 
For example if he can offer someone a similar contract to Bruce with a large promotion bonus in May 2023 (approx only 5 months from now), I think some decent managers would be willing to do the job at such a big club.  The chance to waken a sleeping giant and get paid handsomely for it would be tempting for some people. But if Chansiri can’t offer a decent contract then Moore is probably the best we can get at this time.

FDB’s start to the season was a million miles from before that. Could it be that he’s believing his own hype? I hope not. There’s definitely a player in there but it’s much harder to see at the moment.

 

Dawson’s a funny one. The time to start him would’ve been after that excellent year at Exeter but we went and got ourselves a very good pro for his age instead.

 

Windass impresses one match then doesn’t turn up again for ages. Mostly best off the bench.

 

As in previous years the heart of the club is in the midfield. Just a shame they get older.

I take your point, but generally people who want Moore out don’t even have a half sensible suggestion to make of who would be a realistic replacement. It’s easy to call for a manger to go, but with expectations of automatics and attractive attacking football, they’re aren’t too many obvious replacements.

No idea what they practice in training, it's not pass and move, it's not attack down the wings, it's not hit it long and play off the target man.

 

Based on yesterday it looks like it's constantly a game of attack against defence and keep the ball out the net.

 

We need a forward thinking manager who attacks and goes for it.

We have a decent enough manager. We are sat in a decent position for this stage of the season.

 

I doubt there is a great deal of difference between the managers of the top 6 each season.

 

We have a big usually half empty stadium, in which unless we are 2 goals ahead after 20 minutes becomes a cauldron of intimidation for our own players.

 

Our problem is getting enough of our own fans to give a bit of positive support to the guys on the pitch during the inevitable moments when opponents are having a period of the match when they are on top.

 

Less moaning is the answer and just a bit better support.
