Sloppy

Happy enough with a point today but really sloppy and can't help but feel we could have done better. 

 

Clean sheet and we move on.

Was a difficult watch, we gave it away so often. Bashiru has so much natural talent, bit of an enigma in many ways as I don’t think he has the same passing ability as bannan or byers. For me, would play him further forward. He turned their CB easily on a couple of occasions today and should have done better on those occasions.

Agree. Plays higher up the pitch or nowt for me when Byers is fit.

We had enough on that pitch to win the game, off it not so.

Under no pressure, we passed the ball off for a throw on within 5 seconds of the game starting. The quality never improved. Luckily for us Derby were equally as poor.

The entire performance just told me the pre match talk was basically "don't make a mistake". Everything was slow, nothing flowed with the passes at all.

If we had lost I probably would have twátted the  'little man syndrome' Derby fan that infiltrated the bar.

Reading the Derby forum, they seem pretty happy with that today with "nothing between the sides".

 

Bodes well for the rest of the season if they think that was any where near a decent performance.

Got away with being far too casual at the back again. 2-3 times we gave away possession in dangerous areas that could have lost us the game.

Sloppy is an understatement. The amount of misplaced passes from less than 10 yards was frightening. Its basic schoolboy level stuff. Passing the ball to a man in the same coloured shirt.

The tone was set immediately we kicked off. One pass sideways and out for their throw.

When you put a midget up front with no upper body strength, ball control or real awareness, it does restrict your attacking threat, and so it proved.

If Derby fans are reading our forum I think they would also come to the same conclusion about our fans. The majority accept that was a good result irrespective of the performance. Works both ways.

For all the squad we have we do not impose ourselves on the opposition anywhere near enough. We are more concerned about stopping them than playing to our own strengths so that is why the majority of us are unfulfilled.  Watching I thought it would end up 1-0 to them . I would have taken a point before. But still I think we have so much more we could have done and beaten them and made their play off dreams seem distant. Hopefully we can turn the tables on our form at Exeter a win would be fantastic
