Wednesday -V-Mansfield Town - FA CUP - OMDT

Recommended Posts

Great OMDP as ever, Snoots but I'm pretty sure it's "segue" (verb: "to move onto a new topic") rather than Segway (noun: "trade name of a daft two wheel travelling device").

It's still the cup. Let's thrape the buggers just as we did in round 4 in 1967 (Us 4 v 0 Them).

THrape (archaic - to comprehensively defeat)

Unless you are directing "Billy Liar" starring Tom Courtenay, Wilfred Pickles, Rodney Bewes & Julie Christie

In which case it's Billy Liar talking to his undertaker employer as they gaze out over the city of Bradford and Billy unconsciously takes on the persona of a discontented Yorkshireman:

BILLY: Eeh! I'm fair thraped wi' this town!

SHADRACK: What d'ye mean?

BILLY: Well, it's neither mickle nor muckle.

SHADRACK: Are you takin' a rise out o' me, young man?

Billy retreats in confusion and embarrassment

Superb film, acted and directed faultlessly from start to finish.

Do the Qataris have any influence over Owlstalk ? The fact that we feel the need to put an asterisk in the middle of t*t suggests that it’s not just the Arabs that struggle with reality.

Hang on…. I’m going to try it but I won’t know whether it escapes the morality police until after I post it….. here goes, wish me luck……. ********.

No , they wouldn’t take it and they used too many asterisks as well.

Top post milord.

Was worried that I was starting to get too involved in the World Cup thingy at the expense of the Owls, but last night's non-event restored the natural order of things.

England expectations dashed again. Back to Wednesday expectations again. Let's hope they don't go the same way. They shouldn't do, but it's the cup. And it's Sheffield Wednesday.

UTO.
