Mallik Wilks 0% pass accuracy

Recommended Posts

In the MoM thread v Shrewsbury I described Wilks as '5 - I don't remember him making any positive contribution'

I've since looked at his stats on whoscored and it appears I was far too generous. Including 5 mins of injury time he was on the field for 20 minutes but only managed 5 touches and only attempted 3 passes, none of which were accurate giving him a pass accuracy of 0%.

I don't think I've ever seen such abysmal stats for anyone on the pitch for 20 mins.

Really think his attitude is all wrong.

This all day long.

Took him his first 3 games to pass the ball to a team mate.

He’s got it in him and he’s strong but fookme, he thinks he’s the dogsbollocks.

Too arrogant IMO.

Another odd Wilks stat is that he's been directly involved in a league goal every 63 minutes he's played for us so far, placing him way ahead of everyone else in the squad by this metric.

And yet his overall performances have been severely lacking to every reasonable observer, I assume.

It just goes to show, it's not just about putting the ball in the back of the net (or teeing up someone else to do so), is it?

He clearly has the quality to make an impact at this level, but he needs to start putting in some more complete performances soon if he's not going to be a bit of a flop for us.

Watching him refuse to take on his marker several times in the last 20 mins or so yesterday was infuriating - when we needed his pace to offer a threat on the break, it was nonexistent.

Get rid. Attitude will never improve. Bit disappointed in Wednesday on this as we clearly didn’t do our homework on the type of person he was

I’m pretty sure Moore knows what type of person he is more than you.

Malik Wilks isn’t the type of player who’s game relies around arbitrary passing stats.

He was brought on to give Shrewsbury something to think about on the counter, and did a fair bit of important defensive work too.

Moore didn’t get any of the subs right yesterday too, so I’d find it hard to criticise any of the players that came on for not having a bigger contribution.

For some reason Wilks seems to be getting hammer from Wednesday fans, who clearly hadn’t seen him play before, because they themselves built him up to be a world beater.
