Next 6 games

Recommended Posts

Our next 6 games are against the teams we haven't played yet and takes us to the halfway point of the season.

12th Nov.   Accrington A

19th Nov.   SHREWSBURY H

 3rd Dec.    Derby A

10th Dec.   Exeter A

17th Dec.   OXFORD H

26th Dec.   Fleetwood A

4 away and 2 at home. I reckon the minimum we need is 12/13 points at least to give us 46/47 points at halfway stage and keep in touch with the top.

Win 4 and draw 2 for 14 points would be an excellent return and close the gap or even put us in 2nd place.

Obviously, a in win tomorrow is a must to get us off to a good start.

10 points plus would be a good return given 4 away games , Derby and Exeter away are both tricky , in my head two defeats so anything we pick up from either game is a positive.

Obviously I hope we get more but I won’t be despondent if we don’t.

,jeez you dont  have must win games in november  .....we could lose tomorrow and  still get the other 12pts you think we need .

What I'm saying is 3 points tomorrow is needed to get us off to a good start in this 6-game spell up to Boxing Day.

Anything less than 12 points and we fall behind the 2 points per game average and probably further behind the top 2.

Plymouth's next 6 arguably look easier than ours. All against 11th and below, with their game at Lincoln tomorrow looking the toughest.

Ipswich apart from Peterborough, all their games are against bottom half teams, with 4 of their 6 games at home.

All we can do is take it one game at a time. As has already been mentioned Derby and Exeter look the toughest on paper and Shrewsbury are a bogey side plus Oxford were the only team to do the double over us last season. But we’re a different team compared to this time last year particularly away from home.

Need to start beating some of the main competition along the way - slightly worrying we all think we may come a cropper against Derby, who under Warne I’m worries about, and Exeter who looked handy on TV against Plymouth.
Come on Wednesday, put a strong run together we need that top 2! UTO.

I’d be happy with 10 or 11 from these 6

I think 11 points from that run would be reasonable… any better would be a bonus.

While 10 or 11 points, 3 wins and a draw or two seems decent, I feel that would see us slip further behind the top 2.

It would be a big ask to make up a big gap eith 23 games to go.

Derby away i want to win our record at pride park has been awful over the years and it will be a full house, Wildsmith has been playing very well and Mendez lang will have a point to prove.

we could end up meeting them in the play offs if we dont make top 2 and a few mental scars of a couple of big wins for us would help.

Before Accrington I’d have said ideally get minimum 12 but ideally 13+

I’ll go for

Shrewsbury home - W

Derby away - L

exeter away - W

Oxfordhome - W

Fleetwood away - D

Including todays win that’s 13 from 6 which is over the 2 points per game . No reason at all we can’t go to derby and win I think we’re certainly a better outfit than them but just the law of averages and Wednesday way etc etc tells me we will get a loss somewhere a long the way

My heart rate and my shredded fingernails toward the end of matches suggest that having more than a one goal lead going into the last ten minutes does matter.

I hate looking at upcoming fixtures because it rarely pans out as you think it will.  I think we need 13 points but it is going to be tough and there are some difficult games.  100% agree with just focusing on the upcoming game and taking it one game at a time.  The team need to keep focused.
