I know it's off-topic but I had to double-check that Pleat season. I'd totally forgotten a) what a strong position we were in with 4 games to go, and b) how difficult we were to beat. I mean look at the table from late April - you'd have thought we were a cert for top 6 and even had a sniff of 4th. And only Man U had lost fewer games (unfortunately we lost the next three from this point and only draw the last match).

We also had a run in the middle of the season where we only lost twice in 25 league games - I've no recollection of that at all.

We would have needed to come 5th to qualify for Europe (Chelsea and Leicester took the 6th & 7th spots by winning cups), that would have meant 6 points from the last 12:

Blackburn (a)

West Ham (a)

Leicester (a)

Liverpool (h)

Tricky - Blackburn and West Ham were both in a relegation fight so highly motivated. As it was we got battered at Blackburn and West Ham, lost narrowly at Leicester and were pegged back for a point by Liverpool.

Still - I can't imagine we would have caused much damage in Europe. E.g. look at that Blackburn game - 4-1 to Blackburn would be just about my expected result when you look at the two teams on show:

That Wednesday side would be mid table championship now I reckon. Premiership quality is so much higher now.

And this is exactly why fans of the older generation are not content with the current situation. We should be a premier league team. We just never built on or capitalised as a club on those moments we had.

It's a South Yorkshire thing.

Whenever any team from this area gat near success, they panic and go backwards.

Pleats team consisted of 6 or 7 defenders, he had Peter Atherton playing in midfield.

We had 3 games left and need 3 points to guarantee Europe we failed to get the 3 points only getting 1 but did finish top in the fair play league. We had 15 draws that season.

Man, if only we had an honours board.

Didn't pleat sign di canio and carbone?

I remember pavrotti with a pizza on the pitch before carbone home debut. Imagine what he thought seeing that. It was embarrassing. Think opera singing was on the tannoy system at full blast.

This people is why you need to eat protein, helps develop the brain

Sorry to bust your myth on protein, but

Chicken 31g is the most protein you get from any dead creature, per 100g

compared to...

Kidney beans   58%
Lentils    34%
Lima beans   24%
Navy beans   37%
Soybeans   35%
Split peas   29%
Artichokes   28%
Broccoli   33%
Brussels sprouts  31%
Cauliflower   32%
Green peas   27%
Kale    26%
Lettuce    36%
Mushrooms   56%
Spinach   50%
Watercress   84%
Zucchini   30%

The protein is also purer than the second hand protein from dead creatures. You don't eat many meat eating creatures, do you?

There is plenty of protein in a healthy diet.

You are misrepresenting these numbers

eg In watercress, protein accounts for 84% of its calories.

A 100-g serving of watercress contains 2.3 g of protein and 11 calories. A lot less than you are claiming.

There is plenty of protein in a healthy diet.

Animal-based foods like meat, fish, poultry, eggs, and dairy account for approximately 70 to 85 percent of dietary protein.
