Pre Match Worry vs What Actually Happened

I thought we would win.

We won.

So did I actually… and you can never be sure with Wednesday.

I just find the psychology of it interesting… the worry and expectation that we’d blown it from seeing the starting 11 doesn’t mean that we actually would blow it at all.

I’m not a Moore fan.

However 3 pts is 3 pts doesn’t matter how you get them..Comprehensive victory, last minute winner, smash and grab etc etc I don’t care. Job done move on to the next one…

Issue I have is the league is so poor we will always win more than we lose/draw regardless. Our squad covers up a lot of misgivings when it comes to 90 minutes of league one football.

Today was a strange game, Burton pressed us early on and we looked all over the shop as we usually do when any team try to put up a fight and don’t give Bazza the freedom of S6. Two goals and then their heads dropped and the rest of the game was played at pre season friendly pace.

When it comes down to fine margins against the so called better teams in this league I think we flatter to deceive players and manger.

We should be despatching cannon fodder like Burton without getting out of third gear which is exactly what we did, just need to keep winning.

Not really..everybody expected us to beat Burton..what’s your point??

The point is Realist...we changed formation, wasn't as fluid but scored four goals and got three points despite not being at our best...that's what I call a result or as Cloughie used to say " getting a result when you're not at your best is the sign of a good team "

I'm glad of the three points.

TBH, I didn't expect us to win by that margin.

I'd been led to believe that Burton would be a tougher opponent than their current league position would suggest.

I doubt anyone's opinions will be changed after this game, pro or contra, but a win's a win.

Well...how long have you got Realist ?  Cos' I've got mates in Australia. America, the Canaries and Spain who all support Wednesday and they look at the table, our results this year at home , which compare with Liverpool and other top clubs and think " what is this ballbag talking about? "

We played 4-3-3 created half the chances that we did with 3-5-2 and yet scored 4 goals yes it's baffling

Don't need to create 25 chances a game as usually they are all low percentage attempts.

We scored 4, hit bar, missed penalty, and had a couple more cleared off the line. The 4-3-3 was very effective

If you look at top 2 we're chasing they don't have loads of attempts on target every game. They seem to score with a high % of their attempts.

I think it's great to have both systems in our locker if we need them...does that mean we are tactically astute lol
