Popular Post Lord Snooty
"Be a good man Stubbs and fetch me a bottle" "Krug , Billecart, Moet?" "No, no. An empty one." "An empty one, Sir" "Yes, an empty one" "Forgive me Sir, but why do you want.." "To wee in of course. To have a tinkle" "But the lavatory is only across the hall, Sir. Or has your back seized again? Would you like to call the Doctor?" "Eh" "Has your back gone? We do have the old bed pans in storage if needed, Sir. Easier, I'd imagine than trying to aim down the neck of a bottle" "There's nothing wrong with my back!" "Then.." "It's for Hillsborough" "Hillsborough. I'm afraid you've lost me ,Sir" "The Injury crisis. The injury curse. Heneghan now! ACL. Haven't you heard? Out for the season" "Ahh. Rotten luck indeed" "I'll say" "But that leaves me no wiser about the bottles" "I'm going to lift the curse. I've been thinking about this. Things haven't been right you know since that Monk came in doing his thing" "His blessing, Sir" "Whatever you call it, I'd hardly say we've been blessed since. I mean to say, Almen Abdi, Stubbs, Almen Abdi. If ever there was a warning klaxon that the goat had got his spells mixed up, that was it" "Not a spell,Sir" "Whatever it was. It needs repelling and I've been reading that.." "Reading ,Sir. Or do you mean, reSuRcHinG oN YoUTuBe" "Never mind that tone. I'm taking action. While all around me watch us suffer. I'm getting in there and am going to lift this curse with a sprinkle of the old man water. I'll not be deterred. It worked after all for Barry Fry at Birmingham" "He got sacked ,Sir" "Indeed they did. But results picked up, so he was right in one way" "Very well Sir. I shall get you a couple of bottles." ------ "Here we go ,Sir" "Thank you...here, where's the lids?" "Uhm, you can't take bottles into the ground with lids on ,Sir" "What?" "Health and safety" "So let, me get this straight. I can take a bottle of p!ss into the ground.." "As long as it's a plastic bottle, Sir" "But I can't have a lid on it?" "Exactly, Sir" "What sort of world are we living in here!" "One where a man is so superstitious he thinks it's normal to wee in a bottle and take it to a football match to try and lift a curse which doesn't exist?" "I don't like your tone. Anyway, turn your back. A bit of privacy, if you dont mind. I mean, you might take the Michael about the curse, but I tell you this, we don't want to see Jaden Brown or Marvin Johnson playing at centre back again, and I'll do whatever I can do to try and stop that happening." "Sir. It's Darren Moore on the telephone" "What does he want?" "He read the last paragraph and wondered if you'd bring your boots tomorrow" "Tell him, 4"9 , 68 years old, have two wooden knees ,a hip replacement, I haven't played football for over 40 years, and even then I was a tricky outside left with a waspish cross and not a tackle in me" "He says that's fine, Sir, having a left foot is the only requisite for playing centre back these days." "Fine. I'll be there about 2:30. " ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WEDNESDAY ~ V ~ Burton Albion Kick off: 3:00pm Hillsborough ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Having now dropped five points behind the two in-form leaders as a result of our disappointing results in the last week, we don't want to lose any further ground in the fight for top spots at this early stage of the season. We welcome a Burton Albion side hoping to improve their position in a different fight, with the visitors struggling at the bottom end of the table with just 12 points from their 16 games thus far. ------------------------------------------------- WEDNESDAY ------------------------------------------------- Sheffield Wednesday are set to remain without important defender Ben Heneghan who damage his ACL against Bristol Rovers. Jaden Brown, Dom Iorfa and Reece James will vy to start with Mark McGuinness in a back three if Moore sticks with his preferred setup. That could see Barry Bannan again joined by George Byers in the engine room, although Fisayo Dele-Bashiru and Will Vaulks are also pushing to start in the centre. ------------------------------------------------- BURTON ALBION ----------------------------------------------------------- After a largely pleasing performance away at Bolton, Maamria may deploy an unchanged Burton Albion side for Saturday's trip, with a relatively cautious back five expected to be fielded. Their line will be led by Victor Adeboyejo, who has hit seven goals in 16 League One appearances following his summer switch from Barnsley, with Davis Keillor-Dunn set to join him in the front two. Sam Hughes, Adrian Mariappa and Tim Hamer should again line up in the middle of the defence, with Adedeji Oshilaja again likely to offer further stability at the base of midfield. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20 4 3

HootHoot
Judging by the comments, we may opt for a back 4 with James LB and Palmer RB. We also really need to work on whatever medicals we're putting players through before signing them. We're now in a position again where we need to bring in a CB in January. Should never have let Dunkley go to be honest. Anyways 2-0 to the owls. Come on
Morepork
Injuries piling up. Definitely one CD short in our transfer activity over the summer. Something a few of us pointed out given our injury record. Form and performances aren't dreadful but they are pretty average. Losing touch of the top two who have hit their stride while we have still only shown glimpses of what this team should be producing. Need a win, more for momentum than anything else. Yes, its still early doors. Yes, Ipswich and Plymouth will hit a bad spell. Yes we have injuries........Bottom line, we are well placed but underperforming in the eyes of many. Thanks Snoots. 2
trumbullowl
Paul Bradshaw gracing the Hillsborough pitch again. Is Oscar still around? Sadly Len can't lend a hand to Darren. Division three seemed like an aberration back then. Now it's our level unfortunately. Let's beat the Bass for heaven's sake!

Definitely we'll see a response from the lads today though we may have to come from a Goal down to get the result required. 3-1 Wednesday. Starting Work now. WAWAW. Lombardo
Great post as usual Snoots. Let’s be confident DM will find a way through this mini crisis. A win today and nothing else I’m afraid or we are in the do-do.
Holmowl
Much harder game than the table suggests. Burton stank early season but have really improved. Recent aways starting with their most recent:- Bolton L 2-1 Peterbrough 1-1 Shrews L 2-1 Exeter W 2-0 That’s against current 4th, 5th, 7th and 12th. Its not going to be a Forest Green. 1

thewookieisdown
Glad that his lordship drinks Billecart. Such taste. The TV racing looks decent today but I will end up watching the finest squad of players ever assembled at this level, a squad capable of reaching the championship play off zones, failing to excite a group of supporters well known for their unquestioned start to finish support and creation of the most intimidating atmosphere in world football. Rev Owl
Thank you Mi'Lord. Message in a bottle eh! We should have enough to beat these but we need to make good decisions in front of goal. We don't make good decisions in front of goal. Still UTO 1-0

NobbyStyle
Great OMDT Lord Snooty again. Don’t know about two wooden knees but some of our lot look like they’re playing with two wooden eyes, particularly in front of goal. Anyway, it’s going to be 8-7 but I wouldn’t like to say which way.
