North Stand-New Floodlights

Yes it is a moan and I expect to get criticised.

But last night was the first chance I have had to go to a game this season with the new floodlights working. I have been a real critic of the old lights as they gradually deteriorated and was looking forward to the new ones. But in the North Stand, they are shining directly at you and are seriously blinding unless you have a cap with a peak. You can see they are illuminating almost 70% of the seats in the North but not in the South and obviously not the West or Kop as the lights are only on 2 sides. Blinding and quite off-putting when watching the match, they are also taking away light from the pitch where it should be. 

I don't know which company installed the new lighting but recommend that the new lights fitted on the South Stand pointing at the North need some adjusting. They either need to be tilted further downwards or possibly  need light deflecting hoods to limit the spread beyond the pitch.

Great way to get people to upgrade their choice of stand 

Hopefully we can move everyone over from North to the higher priced South and fund a promotion run to the Premier League

My youngun was moaning about it. I just told her not to look at them. It didn't bother me, mind you the old ones didn't bother me when everyone was moaning they where dim.

I would want to pay less to sit in the south stand.

 I think they do need adjusting. Too bright for North Stand Spectators.

I think the lights are brilliant. However Wednesday got away with the standard of floodlighting last season was beyond me. There is no way they were up to standard.

Can you imagine if all those on T1 moved to the south stand? Bit of a culture shock for all involved.

 

Social engineering at its best. Either the South Standers would start pointing and throwing coins or the ex-north standers would all go out and  buy a flask and sandwich box?

My seat is on row 37 of North stand and I agree that the lights were dazzling, but only when I was looking at the clock to see how long left. Other than that, no problems at all. Maybe sat lower it’s different?

Yes. Too dazzling on row 15.

Need pointing down a bit for me. Proper dazzling when you look at the clock and seemed to be shining too high up the North. Other than that it was lovely to see a properly lit night match. I liked the light show to start as well. Added to the video nicely.

Agree entirely. Way to bright and need adjusting/angled down.

And turn the pitch side hoardings down 50% while you're at it

22k attendance reported, so you're probably not far off with 8k in the North Stand, give the away end upper was empty....which we could see thanks to the lights!

The lights are lighting up too well and I can't stare directly into them.

The pitch looks in good nick and I enjoy the nostalgia of it been knackered come October.
