Popular Post Morepork
When asked about conceding more goals from crosses. This was Moore's response to being asked about the continued failure to solve this problem. It's hardly a surprise that we continue to see almost carbon copy goals if this is how he views it. Unforgivable really. Edited August 16, 2022 by Morepork

Can only assume you haven’t listened Because he does say it needs addressing, but it’s not the same issue as last season (which Staton was saying it was) 1
Popular Post mogbad
He seemed quite chuffed that we weren't conceding from set pieces and totally unconcerned that the 5 goals we've conceded so far we're all similar.

Set pieces was only part of it. The comment above is from Dom's post match report. If he says it does need addressing that doesn't make me feel any better because we've heard that countless times also. Think when they looked at Pompey game the pinpointed iorfa as cause and dropped him, result in two clean sheets in league. Never looked in danger tonight from crosses until iorfa came on. We need a new center back to play LCB as Ihiekwe should be on right 4

Pieman
Not debating the OP, but one thing always strikes me in this day and age, which is the venom aimed at managers. At the end of the day, footballers are the ones who have to head and kick it. They have brains, they have experience, they make their own decisions on the pitch. We can talk formations all day long. Players have to stop crosses coming into the box. Johnson doesn’t. Defenders have to win headers in our 6 yard box, Iorfa doesn’t. There are others that carry some responsibility, Henegan getting pulled towards the ball, Stockdale not being a threat on corners… But, the manager is 100% to blame. 1
CourteenerOwl
Most of the goals this season seem to be coming initially from a lack of urgency in closing down the initial cross and just sticking a leg out and hoping for best. Surely Moore should see this and if Johnson doesn't want to close down properly and like his life depends on it - drop him or sign a better left wing back who can do what a left wing back needs to do - attack AND defend. Palmer in the past had this problem, but maybe if Johnson looks at how Palmer closes down crosses it would help. 1
Popular Post BRUCE LEE
We consistently get out worked and out fought Inferior players dominate the ball in this 3-5-2 system Our defence looks weaker than ever, despite further investment in the summer Darren, the problem just might be you 16
Popular Post NeonLeon
For both teams that have come to Hillsborough in the league so far to set up how they have it clearly is a problem, and one that started well before this season. I mean how else would Portsmouth know that they’d get joy from overloading our flanks? Charlton Saturday was one of the most bizarre games I’ve seen. Every time Charlton had the ball it was effectively… Johnson vs their Right Back, Right Winger & Right Central Midfielder. Hunt vs their Left Back, Left Winger & Left Central Midfielder. Vaulks, FDB & Bannan vs their Sitting Midfielder. Who still managed to act as a pivot and switch play unchallenged. Only when Byers & Bakinson came on did the balance shift. For teams to come and dedicate their gameplan to exploiting our wide areas, I can’t see how Moore can so easily downplay it. 19 1
Mike Hunt
Cannot believe we have actually recruited Henegan he is Dire Good block in the first half but just loses his man for crosses and I have seen milk turn faster Iorfa is worse
Stan Dupowls
I don’t suppose the manager can see that Johnson s a quality attacking winger (fully motivated and encouraged to attack) and a lousy defender, so an attacking left back doesn’t work…but hay that’s just me…. 1
Blue Boy
I've said this loads of times. Iorfa hasn't got a clue how to head a ball, just get to Hillsboro 30mins before kick off and watch him warming up its a f----ing joke. How he is a CB god knows anyway worth a watch

Popular Post Pulixifer
We were never going to win away from home against a relegated Championship team with a player sent off after 30 minutes. Blame James if you have to but there is no winning for Moore from that position. Did well to manage to shut them out until 65th minute really. 3

legendaryswan
We had this same issue last season, for it still to be the case is astounding and very worrying.
Mr Farrell
But Moore has gone from tactically poor to a tactical genius this season. Plenty of Apologists last week shouting this. Make your minds up.
