Popular Post Since 1971
My mate has family in Milton Keynes. They sent him this received from their local club........ From: The Club Hanslope theclubhanslope@gmail.com Date: 26 July 2022 at 13:56:43 BST To: Subject: Sheffield Wednesday Fans Good Afternoon all, As you will probably be aware our last beer festival happened to coincide with Sheffield Wednesday playing at the MK Dons stadium and we had a large number of their fans visit the village and our club before the match. This worked out hugely beneficial for us both financially and in terms of creating a great atmosphere. We were incredibly fortunate that they were not only very generous with their hard earned cash but they were also incredibly polite and friendly and we had no incidents. When a large group of football fans travel together in such a way they are required to inform their local police station which in turn informs our local police station. This meant that we had a police presence on the day and that they checked in regularly with us to ensure all were being well behaved and thankfully they didn't have to do anything other than this. One of the fans local police officers also came down to work with ours and happily reported to us that he saw none of the usual trouble makers and that we had got a really good bunch! Sheffield Wednesday are playing at the MK Dons Stadium again on Saturday 6th August and the same group have asked to come and visit us again. We are more than happy to accomodate them and are looking forward to showing off our new pool room which they funded! They intend to frequent all 3 drinking establishments in the village as they did last time which financially benefits us all. We have asked the Hornets Football team to come along and do a BBQ for us again as this proved to be a great source of fundraising for them last time. The fans expect to arrive in the village from 11am and leave for the match around 2:30pm. In order to accommodate this we have obtained a licence to allow us to open to the public as we do on open days and beer festivals. To make the most of this we will be inviting all villagers that are not yet members to come along during the day/evening, have a drink and hopefully join up. The Club is open as usual so please come down, have a drink and a laugh with the football fans and tell all your local friends and family that aren't yet members to come and check us out. 15

Greengrass
My son went to this. He just said they ended up in a village and there happened to be a beer festival on …not sure it was planned.

I don't think the April thing was planned but seemed to be thoroughly enjoyed by visitors and hosts. If your going to stop off somewhere, a village with signs for a beer festival on is probably as good as anywhere. Seems like the visitors funded a new pool room for the hosts. Looks like this Saturday is planned. I'm on the train for this one so can't really drop in, will be heading for Fenny Stratford instead. Your son is obviously a good lad and a credit to you and Wednesday.
