Popular Post sexpistol Posted July 31, 2022 Popular Post Share Posted July 31, 2022 I’ve watched the Pompey goals a few times now and whilst he was slow to react to their first, it wasn’t a catastrophic error. Despite me initially blaming him for the second, I think I was being harsh. Nothing he could do about the third. His performance certainly wasn’t the horrendous one some on here have been having a meltdown about. I suggest people watch the goals again. First one I agree with. But BPF had some terrible errors last season. I always felt he could make a stupid error. Would Stockdale have made the errors against Shrewsbury and Ipswich last season? Were being harsh as we expect a better keeper as we’ve usually had a decent one in the last 20 years. When he did come for a cross at Wigan it was embarrassing and cost us a goal and should have been more mobile of his line for a couple yesterday. Popular Post 0742 Posted July 31, 2022 Popular Post Share Posted July 31, 2022 2 things struck me yesterday: 1) very flat footed and poor positionally on all 3 crosses that lead to the goals 2) not vocal enough to organise the back 3, who were crying out for some leadership and direction He needs to lose a stone and gain a voice. You may have seen the thread about the moron in the Southstand. This individual actually booed when his name was announced as plying before kick off. In front of a new back 3 that were very suspect. And for at least 2 of those goals he had no chance. Cut him some slack. It’s a long season. He will play a major part. I sit in the north and the angle I saw wasn’t good … second I think he actually tips it onto the bar but could he have pushed it over ? third can’t particularly blame him for that and I don’t .
