Popular Post SallyCinnamon
Hutch, Storey, Gibson, Dean. Think they’re all better than any of our current defenders. Only one game but really wasn’t convinced with the three at the back 23 2
Popular Post StudentOwl
Iorfa the weak link defensively in the air. Positionally/marking wise awful. Unconvinced by the other two, but he was the standout in poor marking on the cross. I really like Iorfa, but it was concerning. Not to lay blame souly on his plate, however... it looked like the entire unit had never defended a cross before... 11
BOOFABI
All three goals from headers, two of which were free. We need a CB and Iorfa desperately needs to work on man marking.
debram
Heart in mouth job whe were defending our final 3rd, how long do you need Darren.
Popular Post Emerson Thome
Sign one of the best defenders in the league and play him out of position on the left. Absolutely madness, especially as it was to shoehorn Iorfa into the side. That is why we should have been re-signing Hutch and looking to move Iorfa on instead. Stick Ihiekwe RCB, Heneghan in the middle and either Famewo or Palmer at LCB and we'll look a lot more solid and be a hell of a lot better on the ball too (no more chipped crosses to the goalie or passes straight out of play from Iorfa). 11
jonnyowl
Said earlier in week. Storey Dean and Hutch are better than Iorfa, Henegan and Ihekwie. BPF comes for those crosses!

Iorfa needs to be gone imo, looked terrible pre season and just as bad today. 4
zorbatheowl
Iorfa lost his man for 2 of the goals, hadnt a clue where his man was. Heneghan best of the 3 C/H. 1
WalthamOwl
I really do think we have signed quantity over quality this summer.

No offence, but I'm pretty sure Ihiekwe played almost all of last season on the left of a three for Rotherham?
CircleSeven
I did think the defence would be a bit shaky at the start of the season but not as shaky as that! Iorfa can be better than that. If he doesn’t get better though soon he’ll be dropped. Id even be more confident in Paterson in the role at the moment!
0114
Nothing new from Iorfa. Heneghan looks a low end L1 signing, I can see why his stats are high in heading and clearances because he never ever takes a touch or wants to control the ball. Just attacks everything and gets dragged around following strikers. None comfortable on the ball either, we’ve lost that from last season.
oneeyedmilkman
Is famewo left footed? Didn't watch many Rotherham games last season so couldn't comment on Ihiekwe, but we always look unbalanced with a right footer cutting back inside. I worry that'll be more obvious with a back 3 that are less capable of getting it down and playing. I'd prioritise a left footed centre half over Dean personally
danblakemore
Those 3 don’t seem to understand how to play on a back 3. Concerning.
theowlsman
It is day one on a voyage of discovery. The defenders are yet to find themselves.

TrickyTrev
We lost a lot of points from winning positions last season due to soft goals conceded. The warning signs were there for this season after last Saturdays friendly at Wigan. Today 3 crosses from the same side and we concede 3 goals. Darren Moore has had a very long time now to get to grips with this defence and sort it out and he’s failed to do so. With the players we have, we are more than capable of winning this league but with the manager’s inability to sort our defence out, I think it could be playoffs again. 4

Popular Post SallyCinnamon
Storey started for Preston today so he’s out the question. Dean not in Brum squad so I’d be on the phone tonight to get him back. 11
Popular Post FreshOwl
We got rid of Hutch, our only ball playing centre half. These 2 new lads are basement lower league defenders who are rubbish on the ball. Early signs look like a big own goal by Moore
