Where are Wednesday going wrong?

Only wanted small grounds

This

Using massive grounds wouldn’t have been a great look on tv, too many empty seats

Using small grounds like Wigan rugby ground, chuckeldome, Bramall lane and Man City training ground means not as many empty seats and better atmospheres

Watching the womens Euro Final at Bramall Lane.

High profile game. Why can’t this be played at Hillsborough? We’ve always been so naff at commercial events and international friendly games.

Grounds like Brighton, Brentford, Rotherham etc got the nod over the likes of Old Trafford, The Ethiad and Anfield.

These games would’ve looked silly in the bigger stadiums all half empty.

Because, lets be honest, there are so many better grounds than ours, including the lane probably now.

As much as it hurts to say, because Utd got to the Prem, the improvements they would have had to make means they would always be picked for games in front of us.

We applied to be one of the stadia but our behind the scenes infrastructure was deemed to be outdated whereas the sty was recently updated for the premier plus they wanted to use a number of smaller stadia like Rotherham and Leigh.

Anyway, the sty has benefited from filling in the corners and they will have better broadcast facilities than we do at present.

Pretty sure you have to upgrade stuff like the broadcasting when you get promoted to the PL.

After queueing for all of half time at Hillsborough during the friendly to be told no pasta but could have sauce, no rice or chicken curry I shudder to think what a mess we would make of a Euro semifinal. Light years behind.

As a few have said.

Wednesday did apply but with no real force to actually want the games.

I've worked it tonight and with absolutely no problems at all. All staff had briefing on Sunday and then again today at 2pm.

But let's be honest. Dealing with a crowd watching a nice game. With about half of the usual syp presence wasn't going to be a tough outing

"Where are Wednesday going wrong?" Same as almost every other Premier League and EFL club. i.e. Absolutely nowhere.

Wednesday, like many other clubs applied for the gig; the FA however, decided (three years ago) to choose smaller capacity grounds for all but the England opener (Old Trafford) and the Final (Wembley - not Bumhole Lane) for the two games where bigger crowds were guaranteed.

So, which are you suggesting? That Hillsborough's capacity and facilities should be increased to compete against Old Trafford and Wembley, or should be made so small as to compete against the likes of Rotherham, Leigh Sports Village and Man City's Academy?

WTF:
