Larsson, Shearer, Gascoigne.. Stam! Wednesday's biggest failed transfer efforts

Recommended Posts

“Somewhat past his best by the time he was seen as a serious transfer target for Wednesday, Gazza was approached by Brian Laws to join back in December 2003. Available on a free after a failed trial at Wolves, Laws said at the time: "Our dressing room could do with a personality like Gazza's. He'd love the big pitch here and he would thrive in front of the 20,000 crowd."

Laws became manager in 2007.

Similar to the glaring error in the aggregate score in the league cup semi.

Remember reading that Pleat made an offer of around 3m for Beckham, this was at the time he went on loan to Preston.

Would have never turned out to be the player he was if Pleat had coached him

One from way back that would quite possibly have made a massive influence how the our future could have panned out for the better was the board not backing harry catterick when  he wanted to sign joe baker ....the straw that broke the camels back for catterick who upped and left .
