The Owls can confirm our schedule for the Papa John’s Trophy 2022/23.

Wednesday were paired with Bradford, Burton and Leicester Under-21s in Group H.

The group game list has been finalised with the dates as follow:

Tuesday 30 August
Bradford v Wednesday (7:30pm)

Tuesday 20 September
Wednesday v Burton (7:00pm)

Tuesday 18 October
Wednesday v Leicester Under-21s (7:00pm)

Meanwhile, in round one of the Carabao Cup, the Owls will host Sunderland on Wednesday 10 August (7:45pm). This game has been selected for live TV broadcast by Sky Sports.

Back in League One, our home game with Bolton scheduled for Saturday 18 March moves to Friday 17 March (7:45pm) to avoid both Sheffield clubs playing at home on the same day.

Are all cup games midweek now?

Weakens the interest in even more in my opinion for both fans and club

I really can’t see moore sending our starting 11 to play Leicester’s under 21s on a Tuesday night sandwiched between 2 Saturday league games

wouldn’t be suprised if Moore sent haslam  to manage these games too

they are just not taken seriously until the latter stages

still it’s a good competition to bring back injured players and for the under 23s I suppose

Kind of makes a farce of the Pizza cup we have to have 4 or 5 regular first team players but Leicester, send their development squad.

Surely all teams should be allowed to play who ever they wanted, would be good to give the likes of Cadamarteri, Hunt, Galvin, Charles (GK), regular game time in these matches.

To be it wouldn’t surprise me if we did

send a spine or low energy players

keeper, centre backs, maybe a CF Or 1 CM holding

then surround it with youth and pros needing minutes

is it 4/5 that played in the last game, started the last game or was in the matchday squad?
