I don’t think beating them in the Mickey Mouse cup would equal revenge.

No I totally agree. Just mean I’d like to put one over on them that’s all. Adds a bit of spice to an otherwise boring tie that’s all.

Another instalment of the Owls v The Black Cats.  Even though I am not sure the early rounds of the league cup get any of us going to so to speak.  Might get 1,000 of us down.

The same Mickey Mouse cup we make a big thing of winning 31 years ago?

Revenge time!!

They are sure to be out for revenge after we dumped them out of the League Cup a few years ago.

If I remember correctly we romped all the way to Round Two that season.

Any idea for possible dates of this?

I'm bloody away for the Pompey game.

Hope it is the week before the start of the season like the Huddersfield game was. I'm sick of this close season already. Dragging on for ever.

League Cup was taken seriously by the big clubs in them days, they were no resting players.

Probably helped by being fewer games in European football, the European Cup was just for league winners and they were no group stages like today.

It's still disrespectful to call it the mickey mouse cup though.

No achievement this club has done is shouted about more than that one, rightly or wrongly.

Oh and when was the last time a non "big club" actually won it? Swansea? That was nine years ago, think this idea they don't take it seriously is a bit of a myth to be honest.

All the top managers take it seriously. Look at the previous winners and its been won by Klopp, Guardiola and Mourinho over the last 10 years. Yes they give fringe players a chance in the earlier rounds but so does every club including us. Think the competition would probably get more respect if it had the exposure the fa cup gets.

Of course they do.

It's a nonsense argument people make to suit their own idea that they don't like it. Which is fine, if they don't enjoy it then that's down to them but lets not pretend the likes of City and Liverpool don't want to win it.

It'll be hard to give it the exposure the FA Cup gets due to when it's played.

Also with the games being on sky. They used to have the final on terrestrial channels but don't think they have for the last 10 years or so.

Yeah the last one they had on terrestrial I think was Liverpool V Cardiff in 2012.

Only reason I remember that was at half time they showed the goal from our win over United which took place the same day.
