EFL clubs allowed to wear away kits at home to help colour blind people

I might be acting thick but they've quoted our games against Sunderland as being the worst for colour blind people.

Why then would the home team have to wear their away kit? Surely the away team would wear theirs?

Like I say I might be missing something obvious.

Sides playing away tend to only travel with one set of kit but the home side should have alternative strips on hand.

If you look back over the years in European club matches it was sometimes the case that the home side wore their change colours (at the referee’s instruction.)

This sounds great, being colour blind pretty badly, sometimes makes watching a match almost impossible, not being able to distinguish between either side. Like Bridport says, trying to use the numbers to also see who it is, is also problematic. Although I am daft enough to still mess around with the electrics 🙂

When we used to have this problem. The away team would use the home team’s change kit.

Why not travel with 2 sets of kit>

Seriously every club should be aware of the colour the home team plays in.  Last season if we played a team who wear red and white stripes at home and our away kit is 'pink', why not wear our home kit of blue and white. It's not that difficult is it?

Could only see the Wednesday players when against Leeds during the two blizzards in 2018😂😂😂 not sure Nuhiu saw the defender he steam rolled over on his way to scoring the winner either!

The kit clash thing reminds me of the most typically Wednesday thing I think I’ve seen:

Few years back the let kids play on the pitch. Loads of mini games going off, but obviously most kids in blue and white.

One of the organisers decides to go and get some bibs. Good idea, until they come back with loads of blue ones😂😩

Doesn't the NFL allow three different kits? Home, away and all white?

Also I've noticed that there appears to be no longer a requirement for teams to wear different colour shorts. That would explain the Wednesday away strip at places like Bolton where the respective kits could have looked more different. (I think that the colour clash with the shorts was to address issues with black & white television especially at the World Cup).

I agree, it's up to the visiting team to sort out any potential colour clash.
