Give your head a wobble. League One players don’t get bids over £1m. Especially 29 year olds with dodgy hammys.

It's true. In hindsight we might have got double that for him last year but I can understand why we kept him. Then in typical Wednesday fashion he gets injured for 90% of the season.

League 1 player.

Club £m’s in debt.

Loads of more reliable players available on free transfers.

Contract up soon.

One of the easiest decisions to sell a player I can remember. Take the money while it’s there, adios Josh

Will cost double that to get a player of the same calibre.

Simply not true. Here’s what the top scorers in League One last season cost

Will Keane free transfer

Ross Stewart 300k

Alfie May free transfer

Cole Stockton free transfer

Scott Twine free transfer

Matt Taylor free transfer

Michael Smith undisclosed

That was last season, to get a player of Windass standing will be well north of a million pounds

Like it or not the inhibitor in any potential fee will be his injury absences for virtually the whole of last season. It will undoubtedly temper any bids.

Why would that be, if he's not injured now?

Whether you or I think it should, logically or otherwise, clubs will undoubtedly factor in his recent injury. Long term injury, quickly breaking down again for another lengthyush absence. This will concern suitors.

All this has nothing to with the price of paying for a player of Windass standing.
