Palmer better than Whelan, Whelan Better then Bannan - but my god if you put all those three in the same squad at this level, you have a top 1 side.   Put those three players in a Championship side, you most likely have a top six side, if you have other good players alongside.

Arguably, those three in a midfield could grace the top flight

Carlton is worlds apart from Bannan. As was Shez.

What about Danny Wilson, where would he fit in in regards to all the players mentioned thus far?
