Yeah.....it was a drab 0-0 draw which I always found bizarre for a testimonial........................RIP

If I remember right we played Leicester around that time in another Testimonial game, think it might have been Mick Prendergast's.

Just found info...  In April 1977, after ten years service with the club, he was granted a testimonial match against Leicester City with 3,179 fans turning up to see Leicester win 3–2 with Ron Springett and Peter Swan coming out of retirement to play for Mick.

I was just thinking same, I can't remember score though, I think attendance was about 5,000

Which was quite good  for a testimonial  game in the  70s   I think the Paul Bradshaw  testimonial   1979  got  more

I've no memory of a Paul Bradshaw testimonial.

Who did we play?

I remember going to his testimonial  game   we played  Norwich  city

I was at that too. For some reason went on the Lower Leppings Lane end, one of only maybe four or 5 games I went there.

He was a good solid player at Div 3 level. Back injury wasn't it?

RIP Neil, condolences to the family.
