And sometimes you have to accept it was a great ball into our soft spot and a great piece of skill and delivery

Just like our goal on the evening

I haven’t watched it back but on the night as soon as that ball was played foreword I thought we were in trouble

Absolutely agree, it was a cracking bit of play for them. NML could have done better, Storey could have done better, Palmer could have done better, Moore could have done better, but at the end of the day we're playing in League one next season and going around calling players 'druggies' and lazy is plain ridiculous and not the reason we're still in this division.

We have to go 352

We need 3 centre backs

1 Forward like Smith

and a central midfielder

That’s 5 players and we could pick up where we left off last season

100% this for me. Let’s not reinvent the wheel. We were six points off autos, mainly down to conceding goals from set pieces and the large number of drawn games before we really settled into 352.

If we can pick up from last season but with a bit more defensive steel and the option of a big striker we should really be looking for automatic promotion.

And people need to let go its history. Some people love a scapegoat but lets all move on

As said earlier the points earned esp after Xmas when we had specialist defenders where they should be wound have gained top two ? Recruitment the key just a number of decent players in and we are in business? Only problem I had with moore was sometimes he did nothing when games weren’t going to plan and that’s where Sunderland manager got them up? Tweaks and reactions to specific games is needed ? Playing 3-5-2 will beat most teams in this league as proved since Xmas but certain top teams we’ll need to be bit more savvy

Indeed but we are losing BPF that on the whole gain us more points than the occasional lapse and replacing him with Dawson and Wildsmith.

we either need a decent keeper so reduce the amount of clear cut chances.

What lost us top two, was the run of playing none centre backs at centre back,  we could have played Brennan more, we could have picked up a free agent. Palmer and Johnson did well but there was too many soft goals conceded.

We lost Johnson attacking threat with him in the back 3, Bannan took a long time to get going 5 assists 3 goals pre January, 8 assist, 6 goals post Dec but he was playing too deep.

The AFC Wimbledon, Cambridge, Lincoln, Cheltenham games when we play 15th-18th in the league and only got 4 points.

there was so many positives about the season but the niggles are what have ultimately cost us promotion.

Yes that’s why I said Xmas onwards? Like two different seasons ? The way we struggled before then scored plenty after? Just get proper players in positions they SHOULD play in and play the system that worked for us most of the time after Xmas? Really think get right 4/5 players in we’ll be fine

John marquis seems to be going to charlton on a free good bit of buisness, that could help move stockley on to us

Hes a player who showed promise many years before he chose drugs, he looks washed up, his pace and effectiveness are in the past and his work rate is even further behind, hes not even effective from the bench, he lost interest in football many years ago and BOY does it show

That’s probably the most bizzare and way off assessment I’ve seen on here for a while. And there’s been some been sober corkers

I agree with the other posts about sticking with 3-5-2, but having the option to change to a 4-2-3-1 or 3-4-2-1 would help. 3-5-2 seems to be a good formula for playing most teams in this division at home. If Windass is fit, then I think we only really need another wide forward to be able to make the switch. Someone who could play up front or wide with pace would be handy:

With current squad (assuming we manage to keep Luongo), we could go from:

.......................Dawson.....................

....Iorfa...........New CB........Palmer..

.NML..................................Johnson.

............Byers..Luongo..Bannan........

...............Windass.....Gregory...........

To:

.......................Dawson............................

.Palmer.....Iorfa....New CB....Johnson..

................Luongo....Bannan...................

.NML...............Windass.............New WF

........................Gregory...........................

(Could easily put Hunt in there too, but would need 2 subs rather than 1 to get to the 4-2-3-1)

There will I'm sure be at least 6-7 new players coming in, including loans, so hopefully we'll have much more flexibility eventually.

I would like a good keeper on loan (ideally BPF if possible) but honestly didn’t know how much improvement Dawson has had from his time I’m L2. If he is to be our number one then I’ll be hoping the keeping coaches have seen enough in him to believe he can cut the mustard. If not then we are going to need a shît hot set of defenders!

Wow i login and have 3 notifications, all from you. I've definitely got under your skin!

For someone who clearly can't read very well, you don't half type a lot. Nobody said NML didn't track back, you just have an agenda against the fella and want to label him as a druggie and lazy because he didn't track back. If only life was as simple as you. coming on here spouting off about your 'education' absolute golden!

Calm down and have a suck on another werthers

343 like Conte uses.

                  GK.

      Iorfa.  New   New

Hunt.  Baz.    Adenarin.  Marv

      New CF.  Gregory.  New CF

Although I'm not sure if our current midfielder's would be able to play this system.
