Remember something similar that last summer that held up Byers move.

Dean has been told he’s surplus to requirements yet he’s paid around £20,000 a week. Likelihood is Wednesday know they can agree a contract with Dean at much less but Dean will want compensating the difference from Birmingham. Still saves Birmingham money in the long run.

Think Norwich offered us a similar deal with Rhodes. No fee but we'd get his wages off the books. DC wanted a fee and we continued to waste 40k or so a week on his wages.

If Brum are not going to play Dean they will let him go for free but I'm not sure they'll continue to pay part of his wages, though of course they may give him some severance pay. He won't be cheap, whatever happens.

Good shout with Rhodes that’s very true. It’s difficult being the selling club when you’ve made it clear they have no future yet they’re paid more than they’ll get elsewhere. Eventually a compromise will have to be met or you’re paying £20,000 a week for another 12 months.

If we can wrap us these that would be superb business. Another left sided centre half too and we have an excellent squad for Championship level, never mind League One imo.

yes would be a very good squad and one that should be more than capable of finishing top 2.

Looks like MK Dons is expecting David Kasumu to move on at the end of his deal.  They offered him a deal but he's yet to sign it.  Would LOVE to get him in.  Guts their midfield and he's quite an engine and above average CDM for League One.   He'd be one of those ROI signings and still a free. Here's his statistical breakdown from @ForeseeaBall on Twitter.

Would be pleased if we went for a player like this who seemingly has similar consistency to Luongo. There is only really Adeniran who does that now, Vaulks doesn’t really.

I’ve seen his name crop up with genuine links to Millwall & Sunderland. I’ll take an account with 0 followers with a pinch of salt.

This is the account that used to post utter rubbish about 3 years ago

Its now linking us to Alfie May

Another father and son to have played for Wednesday then if this goes through

Wouldn’t mind us taking a look at Tyler Walker, Des’ actual son. Hasn’t really worked for him since moving permanently from Forest to Coventry but he looked a really good prospect at one point. Loan move to Portsmouth in January didn’t work out so he may be available very cheaply.

And then throw in Mighten too, why not make it a full family affair?
