Perhaps an admin slip by our social media team? Or maybe he's just not responded as to whether it's a yes or no. Assume he's not in training though which would suggest he's looking elsewhere?

Could be that he's not responded to the offer and not reported for training so the club have drawn a line. No doubt it'll all come out in the wash.

Yeah you would assume if he hasn't reported back for pre season training then he's likely to be leaving. Would be within our rights to draw a line under it.

Apparently we only revealed the terms of the offer last week.

Luongo within his right to take more than a week to decide whether it’s an offer worth taking up!

Yes agree that this is harsh if true.

Probably not to do with this but it also could be with Vaulks signing and us possibly deciding that we’ve an adequate replacement now and therefore have taken the decision out of Luongo’s hands ie save on his wages and spend these elsewhere. Especially if we’re trying to get the two Rotherham lads signings over the line.

Whatever it is it’s very bizarre!

Club saying Luongo has turned down a contract.

And then Luongo taking to social media to suggest he hasn’t.

Not a good look all round!

Perhaps the club wanted a response from luongo within a timeframe and he hasn't responded

It wouldn’t surprise me if he hasn’t directly turned them down to be fair

it doesn’t sound like this has been handled well at all

away at Bolton last year one of the lads bumped into luongo after the game and asked what was happening with his contract

said luongo looked frustrated and said don’t ask

then he asked why he wasn’t travelling with the rest of the team

luongos reply again don’t ask

pal said it was very strange and obvious something wasn’t right

then we reports that the club only offering contracts last week ( not sure how true this is or if this is the norm ) and both luongo and Mendez-Laing turn to social media to have some sort of indication say on the matter.

it’s all very strange. But you look at how some players have been treated by the club abd sone of the contract issues we’ve had under the chansiri reign and you’ve got to wonder who’s accountable for process and what is it?

for all we know the club could have waited until vaulks was pretty much confirmed offered luongo a terrible deal, luongos gone to negotiate and the clubs released a statement saying he’s turned us down. I’m not saying that’s happened or suggested it has but it wouldn’t surprise me if it was the case too

Yep - I’m not going to jump at the defence of the club here given issues we’ve had with pay and contracts in the past under this chairman.

Unusual for two players to both take to social media to display frustration. Unprofessional on their behalf maybe, but shouldn’t happen if everything has been clear and transparent between both parties.

Likely the case. Massivo is probably still waiting/considering offers from elsewhere (down under). But guess we've set a deadline and he's not responded, so can't see it now.

Any more news on Iheckwe?
