Mk Dons lost Darling and replaced him with Tucker

They are very good a picking players on the cheap improving them and selling on at a profit. Something we are very bad at.

True but TBH MK Dons really are a L1 side who have had a very short stay in the Championship. Are you sure you would like us to emulate them?

Wish him all the best.

Was a pleasure to watch him play last season.

Unfortunately injuries got the better of him over the 3 years he was here but I’d have still liked him to stay because when he did play he looked a level above in L1.

His replacement is already sorted so that really helps the situation.

Confirmed: Massimo Luongo to leave Sheffield Wednesday alongside Nathaniel Mendez-Laing and Joe Wildsmith. #SWFC

Shame but we move on. Brought in a very  good replacement already and we are already strong in CM position.

Sheffield Wednesday are considering bringing in a back up goalkeeper in the summer transfer window, Yorkshire Live has learned. Darren Moore has been busy revamping his first team squad, recruiting shot-stopper David Stockdale, centre-back Ben Heneghan and midfielder Will Vaulks this month.

And the Owls manager is understood to be mulling over the possibility of signing an additional goalkeeper to provide cover between the sticks for Stockdale and Cameron Dawson. As things stand, Stockdale and Dawson are the only senior shot-stoppers on the club's books heading into the 2022/23 season.

Academy prospects Pierce Charles and Jack Hall are highly thought of in the youth set-up and have occasionally trained with the first-team squad. Ex-Manchester City youngster Charles recently made his Northern Ireland Under-19 debut as they thrashed Malta 6-0 in an away friendly.

Official

Nathaniel Mendez-Laing, Massimo Luongo and Joe Wildsmith have declined new contract offers and will leave Hillsborough at the end of June.

Mendez-Laing joined the Owls in November last year, going on to make 19 appearances.

Luongo signed for Wednesday in the summer of 2019 and played 73 games, while Wildsmith posted 89 appearances having graduated from the SWFC academy.

The Owls would like to thank all three players for their services and wish them well for the future.

Luongo going is a good thing in my opinion. Too injury prone, likely a higher earner and probably peaked as a player. As a bloke he came across as committed and genuine. I'm sure he'll get a good deal at another decent club but I'm happy with Vaulks taking his place as it stands.

Hinting that he hasn't been offered anything?

Perhaps an admin slip by our social media team? Or maybe he's just not responded as to whether it's a yes or no. Assume he's not in training though which would suggest he's looking elsewhere?
