The loan market is the biggest unknown. So far we have actually only released three players. The loanees make up the biggest chunk of the departures. If we can replace them with better loanees then things could go well. If we fail in the loan market we will struggle.
Last year I think our biggest challenge was recruiting for the wrong system. If we recruit for 3-5-2 I think we’ll do ok.

Loanees have indeed been an important component and whether we can get the same quality,  and afford the same loanee budget,  will be key ( assuming we have been paying part of the wages of each loanee)

He gives cover though at either right or left wing back.

Johnson and Hunt aren’t going to play all 46 league games.

And apart from in the play off semi, NML is generally a decent option off the bench

Although our manager likes to think players can play out of position, I hope we have learnt that NM-L is not a rwb after the second leg concession of that goal. He is not a striker either as DM demonstrated to us.

I’d like to have seen Wildsmith gone and Dawson back as number 2 to someone like BPF. Play Dawson in the cup games and see how he shapes up in them. I really hope Burnley stay up and we can get BPF back again (if he wants to come back to L1 of course).

I don’t see Dawson being happy as a back up keeper. The guys 26 and just had a storming season earning automatic promotion from league 2. He’ll either be number 1 or he’ll be off. Personally think he’ll be gone but it’s a shame he won’t be given a chance. If we were signing the star keeper of a league 2 promotion team we’d be over the moon but because of the baggage that already exists he just wouldn’t be given the support he’d need from the fans.

BPF really wasn't that good. Cost us loads of points

When you say loads. How many do you reckon? And how many did he save us?

I think the Hutch decision makes sense if we’re confident we can get a younger centre back in of a similar ability. Got to be thinking of the future. If we manage promotion next season then he’d have to be gone anyway as he wouldn’t be able to go back up to the championship whereas a younger centre back with a season playing under he is belt hopefully would be.

We need a young hungry striker, some people won't like this but I'd be trying to bring George Hirst in

I wanted to say this when we played Portsmouth

Don't know and don't know but at one bit it was a weekly occurrence him costing us points.

I had a discussion with someone on here in January

I suggested he's the one we need

The expert I was talking to said he wasn't a goalscorer

He will get 20 next season, rumour is Portsmouth and Ipswich want him

I hope we go for him

Just a bloke, who used up all his luck in one go when he met his wife.

The two Sunderland goals went through his legs. Dawson would have been crucified for that.

What you want and what is likely to happen is not the same thing. It's very easy to post about what you ideally would like but it's pointless if it isn't realistic.

Of all the players that are a financial possibility in football, Hirst is probably the least likely out of all of them to sign for us.

Nar can't see us going for him, they had a big fall out didn't they?
