Barry Bannon is a Celt

Recommended Posts

He’s club captain and shouldn’t be getting involved on Twitter in stuff like this. As club captain he should be setting an example and he’s representing the club.

And as a pro who’s just failed in a league 1 play off semi he looks daft taking the ******** out of fellow pros who are playing a couple of levels above him and have just lost in a Europa league final.

You’ve also got Windass tweeting yesterday supporting Mcburnie and posting photos of himself living it up in Mexico after doing nothing all season.

It’s not been a great couple of days for Wednesday players on Twitter and Moore should be having a word with Bannan and Windass about how they use social media

Anyone can do whatever they like on their own social media to be fair

if it backfires on them in a professional context then fair enough but nobody should be telling players what they can and can't tweet about on their own personal social media platforms.

Man in full time employment shares pictures of himself while on holiday on social media.

Outrageous. lol

It’s so sad that some ‘fans’ are desperate to find something, anything, to criticise our own players.

I’m struggling to see what he’s done wrong. Just having a bit of banter on Twitter. He’s a football fan too.

Yep

The hypocrisy from some of our fans is whacky levels of crazy

Honestly though - could you imagine if we had signed Eric Cantona?

Some of our fans would have hounded him out calling him a 'fancy dan' (a phrase they didn't even know until Dave Richards and Danny Wilson taught them to use against foreign players) and complaining that Eric had opinions on stuff and should just 'stick to football' etc

Small town minded people really are disappointingly weird

It's mad innit

No wonder we see people running on the pitch to headbutt players etc with people like this wandering amongst us with that kind of logic

They’re the people who love blow up bananas.

Couldn’t agree more - unprofessional and childish behaviour.  Unnecessary and shouldn’t be excused by the fact that he’s a fan as well, which to some gives him free reign to laugh at fellow pros in this way.

Maybe I’m behind the times but just think a pro footballer who’s on a big wage and didn’t deliver anything for that wage last season is better keeping a low profile.

If he’d bagged 20 goals last season or got us promoted then post whatever holiday photos he wants

If he’d bagged

Jealous much?

Would you have felt better if he'd only gone to Skegvegas instead of Mexico?

Josh explaining to his missus: "Sorry luv, I was planning a more exotic holiday, but apparently some of the chaps on OwlsTalk think us players shouldn't be enjoying ourselves until after we've won the Premier League and the full set of Domestic, European and World trophies for the tenth season in a row, so Skeggy it is, and we should be grateful for small mercies, just don't be caught smiling in any photos or they'll get proper angry-mad!"

They can’t though can they? Most of the top pros have their posts controlled by their PR teams and they have sponsors to keep happy and image rights to protect.

And as club captain of a big club it’s a senior position with a bit of responsibility. I don’t think you’d see Jordan Henderson or Kevin de Bruyne as skippers of Liverpool and City posting anything like this

They can yes

They can post whatever they want on their social media

Whether or not that gets a backlash or there's repercussions is another thing

But they absolutely can post on their socials if they want

There was a time on here that the usual hatred between Owl/Celtic fans and Owl/Rangers fans was so full of vitriol that any thread that involved the usual stuff was pulled immediately...now it's just a bit more subtle.

What Barry B doesn't appreciate, is that there are 100's of Owlstalkers that are self proclaimed die hard Rangers fans  ( they think it gives them extra Britishness points) . so him tweeting his love for Celtic is going to trigger a lot of them.

They love Josh Windass though and his laddish tweets , because he is all Rangers.
