So many of you profess to know that Dawson is psychologically weak/a confidence player who will f**k up the minute we hit some adversity. Let’s face it; you didn’t know if this was a true impression of Dawson before he left on loan. You don’t know if it is still true now (or if it was ever true.) And the two most important things; 1) If Wednesdayites didn’t get on certain players’ backs (whatever Liam Palmer did to deserve what he gets from some Wednesdayites, I’ll never know) then perhaps their confidence might be higher. and 2) if there is any truth that Dawson is a confidence player then he will be ideal for us next season because we’re going to walk it! Problem solved! Welcome back, Cameron! I really don’t think Wednesday fans are much different to most others when it comes to getting on players backs. In the typically Wednesday way, some of our fans like to suggest we are all ‘haters’. We’re not. We just have a proportion of them, just like any club. Down here at Plymouth, some of their supporters give Danny Mayor a hard time, despite him being the most skillful player they have. Others laud Camara as if he’s the next Zidane and yet I don’t rate him. All just opinions and mine is that given the season Dawson has just had, we would be mad to let him go without Basso having a really good look at him. He should play in the early season cup games and see how he goes. At the same time, we should sign another good keeper for proper competition between the two of them. Wildsmith sadly needs to go.

MK set to lose Darling, Twine and their manager Plymouths best CM wants to go, and they lost their best asset mid season (Lowe) If Wycombe don't go up, I think they'll be mid table Derby in a potential embargo Barnsley are a bit of a mess right now Peterborough are always decent at this level Pompey and Ipswich will be better I think. Overall I would hope with a good recruitment done early we will be pushing the top 2

We lost in the playoffs semi last monday, the new season starts 30 July 2022, presumably preseason will 4 or 5 weeks before then, so the club have realistically 6 weeks to start bringing players in, sign existing ones, arrange a pre season friendly list, get the new shirts out etc etc. they should be announcing this week the retained list, but from the sounds of some of the players they have not been contacted yet. This list is easy to complete just have a wander round Hillsborough park for new players, sign any of the existing lot still hanging around, pre season friendly’s against park hotel and old crown and nip down to Suggs for new kit on the bargain rain. I don't think those who are coming down are as good as those who came down last year and as usual the better managers and players will be cherry picked from this league. TbagMcgraw
I'll give Dawson a chance (again), but I just never feel comfortable with him in goal. At least Wildsmith is hopefully moving on and we'll have at least 1 semi reliable keeper out the 2 to call on....to think we once had Kirkland and Westwood as our 2 keepers...both class, both freebies. But, genuinely sounds like we have some decent up and coming keepers in our youth teams, I just hope we nurture them accordingly and learn from previous mistakes. Somebody like Zander Clarke from St Johnstone would be perfect for us! Out of contract and highly rated, but being linked with some decent clubs. Failing that, Christy Pym still out in the cold at Peterborough, and has a League 1 promotion to his name.

Jack of Clubs
If we want to play out from the back the keeper will need to be comfortable with ball at feet. Not sure Dawson is that man so We need to look elsewhere.

Exeter fans raved about him and the club tried to tie him down permanently. He's 26 and under contract with us until 2024. Why would we not have him back as our number 1? Mighty Quinn
What about Aaron Chapman from Gillingham I saw highlights of Rotherham game and he made some terrific reaction saves and caught everything, from Rotherham anarl so could be worth a look. striker
It's a crucial position we need to get right. Plenty of GK's available who are good shot stoppers, but we need someone good with their feet, able to organise and command the defence in front of him.
