Persuasion

How can Sheffield Wednesday persuade as many fans who went yesterday who don't normally attend to do so next season?

It's a simple question, and offering thousands of free tickets per game like our porcine neighbours isn't an answer.

Strong recruitment

top marketing

Huge incentive on season tickets

I wouldn’t by a season ticket to save a couple of quid a game

and I’m not saying put the pog prices up but to full thr stadium you need to get more people buying season tickets

why not open the gap

higher the pog

lower the season tickets

even those that can’t attend every game may see more value in the season ticket and buy one

not saying this to be the pricing at all but if the potg started from £30-£40 ( I know )

have the season tickets from £150-£200

your bound to sell more season tickets then you have a guaranteed 17,000 less pressure to sell

otherwise drop the prices all round it was £20 a ticket last night

I’d prefer the opposite. Keep the regular 23k and balls to the rest. Can’t get parked up, shitters full and takes longer to get home. Big crowds very overrated.

I'm guessing it brings in a bit of extra cash though.

Also might start giving the players a lift.   It's too lifeless normally and I've being going long enough to have seen the good times.

More benefits for members. Season ticket holders can bring a mate for 10/15 quid. Heavily reduced kids tickets (but in the south stand or something.) Family bundle deals. 5 game packages. 10 game packages. Weekend packages. Pair this with actually having this seasons kit in stock and we might make a bit more money

Consistent pricing compared to all the local team for match day ticket.

doing cheaper season tickets, then over price POTG prices will lead to less and less fans going. We are in the 3rd division, £25 for an adult and £10 for a 16 and under kid is more than enough.

we have a stadium of 39,800 but only 32,900 there last night presumably because areas of the stadium are not up to scratch, spend money on bringing the stadium up to standard you would expect.

Try and attract the fans, with a good match day experience, offers, ticket, travel, pie and drink etc incentives, dont just slap a badge on it and expect them to turn up and pay over the odds.

there is so much the club could do to get bums on seats but they have to want too.

Wait till they build the drive thru Costa opposite the stadium it will be total gridlock every match day.

Ask anyone who doesn't normally go to games how much it is to go to any specific Wednesday match and watch them go silent

Then ask them how easy they think it is for people buy a ticket to the match - watch them go silent

Then show them the matchday catering, facilities and experience at the ground and watch them not want to return until there's an absolute must attend match

Then ask them if they'd like to simply buy a ticket and scan a QR code or barcode from their phone and wander through the turnstile and watch their face turn to disappointment when they realise that you have to have an injket printer and actually sit and print your own ticket out at home

We make it the most difficult and unappealing challenge to go to games

That's just for starters too

I could go on and give a zillion more examples (tiers, phases etc) but won't

Weekend packages.

I've wanted something like this for years, but I'm not sure how it would work in reality?

When games get postponed / moved for Sky, a weekend game becomes a midweek one.

You could end up paying for more games than you can actually get to.

Not sure if any clubs offer this across the country, and I have absolutely no I.t acumen whatsoever, however I wonder if you have 10 games as a counter on your online account. You print off the ticket for the game at home and your account goes down to 9. Maybe absolute pie in the sky stuff, but I think it'd massively hook the fans that live hours away like myself.
