Certain Wildsmith wont be here.

After the full time whistle, he walked round all the crowd then was hugging the coaching staff one by one looking visibly emotional when most of the players had gone down the tunnel already

Like he knew that was the last time he'd be here.

Im sure I read somewhere that we have an option for another year on Jack Hunt. Personally I’d like him back here next year.

Good experienced core of a squad, with a few younger players. I think storey would be a good fit if available and players of that ilk, reducing the average squad age, likely to be our focus this summer.

It's a good starting point, better than last summer. Wise investment in permanent signings and again utilising our loan capacity should give us decent options and depth.

Our squad doesn't look half bad, if we just recruit players with correct requirements. Last summer we partly missed due to signing all the wingers, hopefully we now know what type of football we will play.

However, our usual problem areas are still there - a decent GK, a midfield monster and a goalscoring striker desperately needed.

Contracted:

Bannan - stay

Windass - stay

Iorfa - needs to prove fitness 2 season lost now

Byers - stay

Gregory - stay

FDB - stay

Adeniran - stay

Dawson - Time to get sold while he has a resale value

Brown - sell / loan out for season

Alex Hunt - loan to league 2 but with play clause in

Palmer - stay

Out of Contract:

Luongo - when fit, a great player but only fit for but only played 37 of a possible 92 games in last few season

Berahino - stay as long as for the right price

Paterson - Go, a utility player but cannot command a regular spot and will still be on championship wages

Jack Hunt - Go we need a young full back that we can develop, Hunt offers the same as Palmer but will be costing more

Dunkley - Go - injury prone

Hutchinson - Stay, offers leadership on the pitch and has a few season left in those knees

Wildsmith - Go has not kicked on, a fresh start is needed for his career

Sow (?) - Go, not a manager pick a barely plays, even though offers more than Paterson/Kamberi/NML going forward

NML (?) - As a winger stay, if as a front two player then go, as cannot hit a barn door from 2 yards.

Johnson (?) - stay as a winger, one of the bright points of the second half of our season

Expired Loans:

BPF - Go and replace with Marosi at Shrewsbury

Dean - Sign if not too expensive - wages may be the issue

Gibson - Go another of the failed loans

Shodipo - Go never fit and DM won't play him as an attacker

Kamberi - Go - never given a consistent chance in the team -- suggest he was a panic buy before we got other players in.

Storey - Sign but will be difficult based on his performances with us could be in the first 11 at Preston next season

John Jules - Who??

Players to sign

Marosi (GK) from Shrewsbury,

Alex Smithies (GK) Cardiff,

Rudoni (ACM) from AFC Wimbledon,

Matty Longstaffe (CM)from Newcastle,

Cole Stockton (ST) from Accrington Stanley,

Pederson (LB) Birmingham,

Reece Burke (CB) Luton,

Will Vaulk (DCM) Cardiff

I believe the following players are happy to stay (if we want and can afford it):

Dawson

Brennan/Iorfa   Hutch  Palmer

Hunt    Bannan   Dele-Bashiro   Byers/Adeniran      Johnson/NML

Gregory   Berahino

If we can afford it and offer a long-term deal, I guess we also can get Dean

I'm not sure, if   Windass and Sow want to stay

As far as I understood, the price tag of Pato is a problem - otherwise it would be great to keep him as well

We do have an option on Hunt although it was reported at time as being dependent on promotion.

After extensive googling I can’t find anything about Johnson, Brown or NML’s contract lengths.

I can see Johnson and Hunt staying. They were first choice, played well and I doubt they’d get better offers from elsewhere at their age

Will Vaulks, would he really join us in L1? Just played 36 games for Cardiff in Champ and is only 28?

Pederson has just played 37 for Birmingham in the Championship

Reece Burke is a regular for Luton who are in the Championship playoffs

Am i missing something with them, why would they come here?! 😂

Can see Vaulks going back to Toytown.

Looking at the list of our out of contact players excluding those with options to extend.

Wildsmith, Luongo and Dunkley are gone, can't see them wanting to stay or be offered a contract.

Hutchinson really depends if Moore wants him to stay, cant see a Championship side realistically coming in for him and pretty confident we could match any offer from another League 1 club, hopefully a Player coach role if he fancies going into that side of the game.

Those ive seen listed with options in this thread Berhaino and Hunt arguably keep.

Paterson too expensive I guess for a non regular utility player and NML a bit meh.

From the loans Dean ideally, BPF again if Burnley let him and we want him back, same with Storey.

Gibson out of conract with Everton i believe but not 100% sure, the argument for signing him is hes showed potential, knows the Club now and may be cheaper due to the long injury, against signing him the long injury.

The other loan signings thanks for your efforts and we wish you all the best, nothing against them but injuries and lack of quality have meant they havent made an impact.
