Byers Shot

Recommended Posts

Just as we had some success in our goal with a ball coming in wide for Gregory to tap in, we moved the ball around and Byers has the chance to square it wide for NML to play into the box - but he shoots with 3 men charging him down, just a terrible choice.

That was our chance to steal the game, a similar ball into the box and we'd have had a tap in - on the whole highlighted our poor decison making all night, we handed them the ball back so many times in midfield it was embarrassing.

Watch that 5 / 10 minutes around that incident

There were at least two times that NML and Byers just flat out refused to pass to each other

What makes you think NML would have put a decent ball in. He wasted other opportunities with poor attempts to get the ball in to the box.

NML probably wouldn't have made effort to get onto the end of his pass anyway. He'd have stood and watched it roll by him. He was class when playing for a longer contract, made losing Theo look like no issue at all, but he's really not covered himself in glory recently. To the point i think his days are numbered here already

The back3 rarely passed to Byers when he dropped in for the ball, this plus the man marking of Bannan,  Luongo looking so uncomfortable on the ball made our midfield 3 look pedestrian.

Luongo, when fit has been class this season, but WTF were his 2 'perfomances' in the play-offs? Maybe he is/was injured, carrying a knock or whatever - but he was terrible, like really horrible in both games.
