What do you think of fans having a pop at players on Twitter straight after a big defeat like that?

I don't agree with it, think they're dickheads, but that's the internet.

But it is no where near life and death.

I think that it bares no comparison to someone losing their parent.

You do. We clearly have a very different moral compass. And no way of you trying to deflect this conversation whilst refusing to take responsibility for YOUR own words will change that.

Bloke clearly loves Sheffield Wednesday and is devastated. A rarity these days to be honest.

As a football fan we all say we want players to care for the club and give their all, Barry Bannan gives all of that and more.

Yet Bannan has shown more loyalty than probably any player ive seen for us in recent memory and is still berated by people.

Yes hes been well paid, very well paid for us. But he could have been well paid elsewhere. He had NO REASON to sign his last deal when we were going down other than loving SWFC and his role in it.

Back him because once he's finished, we wont find many like that for a long time.

Absolutely this

Whatever you do don't make an analogy to try and explain what he did

I tried it

Didn't go down too well with the crybabies who can't accept I was right and they're being overdramatic and oversensitive

lol

Blows my mind that people are defending a moron tweeting Bannan saying he is rubbish.

It was your ridiculous "analogy" that sent this off topic.

Clearly the guy on twitter was being an idiot.

But your comments on this thread have been.... how do I put this...... misguided at best. A frankly ridiculous and insensitive comparison.

Not really

It was a bang on one

Someone upset so someone goes up to them and piles on the pain some more

That's what's happened - both in the twitter spat and my analogy

people need to stop being oversensitive here

Traumatic and upsetting?

They lost a football game. A game.

That's it.

For us it's a game

For the players it's their job. It's an important part of their live.

Why are so many fans surprised by this ??

It was always going to happen if we lost

In our fan base there is an element that just can’t wait to have a go at the players and the club

They were just waiting for this defeat to spew out there anti Wednesday opinions

Its fu##in embarrassing

You lost sight of the topic a long time ago fella.

The actual post in the original tweet isn't that bad, it's actually very common, not just in football, but other sports and every day society. Someone deems another person to have under performed, then a metric of value, which is usually salary/renumeration is used as a point of reference to discuss value. It's very normal for 'actions' to precede a reactionary discussion, which is what we've seen in this instance from Steviebrownwhatever, thus 'timing' or the questioning of it whether it's acceptably or not is devoid of logic, because of course an event took place that highlighted and brought in to question value in return of service.

What the real issue with that tweet is in barry's response, in that the original tweeter has been at it all season, but again this is to be expected, much like quarterly performance reviews, yearly bonus reviews and weekly matches. They're all the same, events which take place to highlight performance against renumeration. It all comes down to perception though, Steve clearly doesn't perceive Barry as value for money and in the 3rd tier, on the reported wages he's on, it would actually be very difficult to make the case for such a high earner at a club losing so much money.

But none of that detracts from the fact your comments on this, the doubling down, the name calling, the bullying and the lack of emotional intelligence to take responsibility for your own words are far lower than anything the fella in the tweet said. But you know that, you're not stupid, just ignorant or have a fragile ego today.

Have a coffee and go for walk. Your forum like all others self moderates, top down and all that 👍
