An official who watches a game or match closely to ensure that the rules are adhered to and (in some sports) to arbitrate on matters arising from the

I can only think that he was as discombobulated by the atmosphere as half of our team were and stopped being able to function properly.

He was absolutely diabolical. I thought I’d seen the worst ref at s6 this season, but kudos to the EFL they saved the worst till last.

The atmosphere in the first half was poor. 

 

Though granted the performance didn't do much to encourage

I was slightly surprised when Neill subbed him off for Matete.

Poor ref but he wasn't the issue, our non-performance in that first half was.

It’s frustrating when they don’t even enforce simple rules. 
 

The goalie can only handle the ball for 6 seconds. Their keeper never got rid in anything like that. 
 

easy to see. No judgement required but never penalised.

He lost control of the game in the first five minutes when he failed to book their player for simulation and then compounded it by letting their bloke getting away with slicing Byers in half

 

Although it has to be said over the 2 games he was the least of our worries

I never criticise a ref after a game...just sounds like sour grapes.

But on this occasion he was a complete foookwit..dead easy to con.

I can't believe it's took over 100 minutes for someone to start a thread about that dirty pig who allegedly ref'd our game. Embarrassing is the only word to describe his performance.

That earlyish tackle on Byers first half - easy booking to give to calm the game down - but nope, was in pig colours so let it pass,

Byers spent next 10 mins limping and rubbing knee. 
As soon as Pritchard screams and falls over out comes the yellow to Byers.

And then one for Bannan for winning the ball.

There was a whole list of things he let them get away with.

They should make sure the refs are good for important games.

The man was a complete ..... 

Can't say it because I'm a vicar but he was a complete one of them.

Here it is, the ‘poor ref’ thread in response to another disappointing performance.  For what it’s worth, I didn’t thing the referee was particularly good, but in absolutely no way was he responsible for our failure.  Take a good look at the players and the manager before moaning about officials.
