Wildsmith

Recommended Posts

It’s not like we’d be sticking some random youth in net. Wildsmith is a senior goalkeeper with plenty of games under his belt and will be looking for first team football somewhere next season.

Let’s not throw a wobbly if he needs to play.

Not ideal.

Wildsmith is a capable lad, but sometimes looks like he lacks to confidence to grab the number 1 spot.

Under Carlos, I was adamant this lad was the successor to Westwood. That Arsenal game never fazed him for a lad so young.

Oh dear. I don't wish to be disrespectful or negative, but have to be realistic and that's a major problem.

Sure he'll do his best, but there is a reason he's not playing, or been offered a new deal.

Of course will back the lad, but GK such a crucial position and in a game where we really need a clean sheet, that ain't going to happen.

If true, good luck Joe, play a blinder and make me eat my words.

Yeah if we had BPF he would be a massive assett in the shootout. You would just be confident he would save a few.

Maybe he'll be on the bench and get subbed on with 20 seconds left.

Obviously he has a great record of saving penalties, but I also think when a team brings on a "specialist penalty stopper" it gets in the oppositions heads a bit.

Gotta love some mindgames.

Near enough every time I've seen that it's backfired.

Puts loads of pressure on the keeper coming on, since they're only on to do one thing.

It always goes one of two ways when this happens:

The unlikely hero or the unfortunate villain.

If so there’s absolutely no point even playing the game. After that disgrace of a performance v Hartlepool he should never have played for the club again.

He’s absolutely useless and I wouldn’t even have him in the U23s. I’ll go to the boozer and wait for the team news. If he’s starting, I’ll stick £100 on them to qualify and go home.
