Andrew_Owl
If he isn't 100% I wouldn't play him, put Dele-Bashiru in.
The Wall
Don't think Friday's performance was anything to do with fitness, he was still covering the ground. More to do with Sunderland being well up for it and working very hard to close us down
Ballmeist
Only the management team know that actual situation on Friday but from the outside looking in he looked no way near fit. I've read some comments suggesting he was marked out the game but it was obvious to anyone watching that he wasn't wanting the ball, we normally we can't string 3 passes together without some sort of involvement from Bannan. I don't rate Dele Bashiru but i'd rather play someone who is actually fit than another unfit version of Bannan that we saw on Friday. owlprince
I don’t think he was injured the other day just couldn’t get him into the game. Still has to play for me even if he is only 75% we won’t win the midfield battle with fdb in there
markg
I don't think he was fit. Yeah, we didn't get him into the game but he didn't seem to demand the ball like he normally does and seemed to be running at half his usual pace
Jack of Clubs
I think Bannan suffered from the high press that Sunderland were applying and couldn’t get on the ball as much as we’d like. They were pressing our back 3 greatly and also our deep midfield which often then meant we had to play it long under pressure. Whether it was tiredness of the press or protecting their lead Bannan got a lot more of the ball in the last 20-30 minutes and we looked far more threatening. For that reason I wouldn’t say he wasn't 100% or out of sorts in the game it was more to do with the tactics Sunderland applied.
thesouthowl
He's determined to play tonight despite suffering from a slight knock. Just seen him him being wheeled out of the physio's.
Cheshowl
He’s our best player absolutely no doubt, but proven to be ineffective in a deeper role, get him pushed up the pitch at all costs
