To be fair if Hutchinson had cleared that ball then at half tim it would have been a good first half, they created nothing, and crowd was starting to get impatient..  that goal gave them a massive boost for start of 2nd half

Darren Moore totally shackled that performance...Needed a plan B and some flexibility.  Was a total mess.

 

Although perhaps we need to judge that performance after the 2nd match.

Really? They should be taking a 2 or 3 nil lead into game 2 if we are honest.

Exactly.

 

At half time their XG was like 0.2.

Ours was over 0.5.

 

Kept it tight whilst having a threat.

And that was when they were running about like crazy. We saw what happened after 60 mins when they were knackered. Time wasting at home is hardly a show of strength.

I'm abit more worried re the lack of passion n aggression..... It happens to much n is why we're a bad away side....Moore needs to sort this...... However... One mistake cost us.. This is far from over...

Lost 1-0 to a team that finished the season with a very similar record to us, away, in front of 40,000 of their fans due to an uncharacteristic individual error

They get it drummed into them to play it about at the back. Players who aren’t comfortable on the ball. That mentality ingrained in Hutchinson will have had a bearing on him not clearing it into Row Z despite there being only a minute of the half left, but instead trying to pass back to the keeper.

Please be absolutely clear, you honestly think DM instructed Hutch to almost trip and give the ball away? You’re sober and you think that was part of Moore’s tactics? Without a hint of irony or sarcasm you think our manager told Sam Hutchinson that’s what he was supposed to do?  Hand on heart you truly believe we’ve worked all week in training on nearly tripping up and giving the ball away?

That’s about where I am with it. Should have had Paterson given the amount of long balls we punted up of NML in the centre to run at them from deep. But overall it could have gone worse. Whatever league we are in next season our away tactics do need an overhaul IMO if we are to improve.

Was the wrong game for Berahino, we would have been better playing Paterson tonight in my opinion.
