Palmer - my Man of the Match

Reliable without doing anything else.

I would have played Hunt every day of the week, at least he has something about him going forward

Palmer had and made all of our best attacking opportunities.

Sorry, you’re just wrong tonight.

As are the threads continually praising him TBF.

And which should be more common?

Seriously? A good lad who play well pretty much every week should get positive threads most weeks!

Palmer was awful, passing was shocking from him, poor decision making in final 3rd.

Hunt has to start on Monday!

Think you got palmer mixed up with bannan

Least palmer showed a bit of heart tonight unlike our so called captain

There isn’t a single Wednesday player who stood out as a MOTM

Bang average performance from most and pretty poor from some.

Palmer is hard working but in his whole career has never been as effective as Hunt at RB / RWB yet plays tonight in one of our most crucial games…that’s on DM but no way could you say Palmer was MOTM.

He’s a steady player 6/10 sometimes a few stand out 8/10s that’s all.

Wouldn't argue about him being MOM, but I'd still bring Hunt back for Monday night.

Agreed but not at the expense of Palmer as he offers us the “overlapping centre-half” option. I don’t know who you drop to get Palmer into the back three but we need the threat going forward from the back three if we want to play to our new identity and Palmer is the player the does that role.

He has done a stirling job tonight.

The problem is he offers so little real threat going forward it makes us lop sided. Defensively often can't fault him but offensively not good enough.

Take a look on the Sunderland forum. The only player they thought was a threat was Palmer, which is correct. For those who are saying he was awful are either pig fans or have never seen a football game before.

It’s like clockwork, or the resonance of a pulsar, is a Palmer bashing thread.

Ridiculous, unwarranted and simply wrong. He’s a solid player who always turns up.

My MoM

Jordan Storey !

Palmer was the only player that offered any threat going forward.
