TheSlicer
What’s the capacity of both grounds then? I thought Sunderland was a touch shy of 50k and we are currently about 34k

horny owl
Hillsborough’s capacity is a disgrace for a club our size And there are people on here who think it’s too big for us if we got into the premier league

Not sure mate I was just going off what a previous poster had said that it’s currently 34 with the SAG restrictions so 34k plus the 47 could push it to 80k+ for the two legs. phenomenal Edited May 3, 2022 by TheSlicer

Always wondered about that corner bit, it wasn’t there when we had the 4 original stands was it? - assume just an add on cause we are ***** MASSIVE, same goes for that random bit next to the kop

Aingarth
23 hours ago, sherlyegg said: Yes...very nearly. Ground capacity is officially 39,800. Not any more. The cheese between North and West no longer has seats so that is about 1,100 less. When the Desso was laid, the ground was levelled and 2 rows removed from the front row of the Kop. So 400, so at least 1,500 off the total. The widening of the stairways was already done when the 39, 800 capacity was calculated. Without SAG restrictions, I reckon there are around 38,000 actual seats. That would suggest that last Saturday there were 4,500 places with seats unused. Actually more as some season ticket seats were empty but as they have pre-paid, they are counted in the total attendance. Of course, many seats are cordoned off with material on the West Upper and Lower, the West side of the North and areas in the South due to SAG.
toppOwl
I know it (allegedly) gives the home side an advantage by only giving the away boys 2000 tickets but I'd prefer a full away end with both sets of fans giving it their all, you can't beat it.
