People actually do that?

God honest actual real life people?

I thought they just made them up?

Did they never get over the closure of 606?

I know, it's like posting in a poo forum

My big concern is the occasion and if we go behind early at Sunderland...

Home advantage second is great....if you get to that home leg either level or ahead.

Remember back when we faced Brighton in the Championship play offs and winning our 1st leg, that seldom did teams come back after losing the first leg... and rightly so we hung on in Brighton and didn't make a dent in that history.

Is it the same in League One? I realise there's two legs, and if it's anything to go by, just check out Real Madrid coming back v Man City yesterday, and Villareal "almost" upsetting Liverpool after the first half of 2nd leg. But how much is riding on this first leg of play off semi final?

It's going to be close in both legs.. I actually fancy us in the first game so going for a draw or a win...the S6 return leg will be the nightmare one for me as we'll be put under loads of pressure from the counter attack plus we need to beware the late/last minute goals that the Mackems specialise in... Let's face it... Its squeaky bum time for 180+ minutes coming up!  I'm still amazed we've made Top 6....

I think its something like only 1 time in 50 in the champions league has a team come back from 2 goals down after the first leg to go through (Liverpool vs Barcelona). In the play offs I think they said no team had done it before when we played Brighton... basically you don't want to lose heavily in the first leg or you're probably out. Thats why playing at Hillsborough first would have felt like an advantage particularly after what happened in the league games and our home vs away records all season.

Yea, exactly my thoughts on how this play off turned out too.

Or this is the year of Real Madrid and Sheffield Wednesday! lol

The OP seems sound but I wonder if the people saying nice things about Sunderland as a club will be doing the same after 180 minutes of Alex Neil shithousery…

Thank you.

I like to think I'm ok 🙈

Travelling up and down the country to away games for 25+ years.  You learn we are all more or less the same.

Just love our respective teams.

Some fan bases you seem to tie in with more.  And I'd certainly say Sheffield Wednesday are one of those.

In my opinion.

And I know the Sunderland fans I know think similar.

I am very sure over the course of the 180mins which ever teams fans lose there is certain to be a bit of a "falling out"  That's football.  You're never happy to lose such a high pressured game.

However I can assure you.  After my initial bad mood / mope around.

Yous would have my best wishes for the final.

How's everyone feeling.

I'll be honest.  The nerves are just starting to kick in.

Looking like our crowd will be c42/43k tomorrow night.

With 39k at yours (is it?)

Looking around 80,000 for both games.

Unbelievable support from both sets of fans.

Nervous and switching from getting to Wembley to the season is over.

Morning All.

As the title says.  I come in peace.

Just wondering your views on our upcoming games.   2 huge clubs who should not be in this league.

Disappointed with the respective away allocations.  And would hope that's more down too the sag and local police.  I believe the winners of our game will win at Wembley.

My Aunty is a Mackem and my old man used to live in Durham. Proper football club, great fans, I’ve always had a lot of respect for Sunderland. Best team in the north east (fizz the barcodes).

Obviously I want Wednesday to win but if we don’t win the semi then I hope you go up. Neither club should be in this division. All the best 👍

Absolutely mate, I just remember Alex Neil’s Preston side being positively Wycombe-esque at times! Ok maybe not that bad, but you get my drift!

I’m from a family of Geordies myself so the anti-Mackem indoctrination began at a young age as you’d expect… despite that, if we don’t get there, I’d still rather see you win at Wembley instead of two nothing clubs like Wycombe or MK.

Before then, I hope we get to enjoy two great games of football in front of crowds and atmospheres that belong at a much higher level. Will be shítting it tomorrow but also looking forward to it, as long as you don’t do us 5-0 again obviously!

Hope you’ll stick around to occasionally post on here whatever happens 👍

Whichever team makes the final, I think both sets of fans would prefer next season in League One without the other

Not convinced MK or Wycombe will be pose the same threat again

True. Twine certainly won’t be playing in L1 next season! I think this was MKDs best chance.
Sunderland however will always be in and around the top six if they don’t make it this season.

Hardly the fans fault that...I'd bloody take it at this stage...

We’d want Sunderland to go up if we don’t just purely because it’s less competition for next season. Wycombe will fade eventually and MK Dons will probably sell their best players. The fewer big clubs down here the better
