will moorinho set us up for a draw?

Recommended Posts

No, but i wouldnt expect us to set up for all out attack either.

I expect a very controlled cagey start and emphasis onnit concefing in the first half.

So thats a goal down after 2 mins and chasing the game in reality lol

No, we won't play for a draw. I don't think we've ever played for a draw either, it's just how games pan out sometimes.

Will it be an easy win? No. Portsmouth have demonstrated that they're still competing despite having nothing to play for other than pride.

There will be moments where we're on top and moments where we will have to endure some pressure and hold firm but I don't think we'll spend 90 minutes sat back and hoofing it up the pitch.

It'll be a cagey 1-0 or 1-1 I think.

Why are people acting like playing for a draw is a terrible idea

a draw would be a good result

A draw might be enough but if 0-0 Wednesday v Plymouth then:

Win for Sunderland puts them above us

Win for Plymouth puts them above us

Win by 2 goals for Wycombe put them above us

Would it be unthinkable for the other three results to come to pass? No. Unlikely maybe but not impossible by any stretch.

If we lose then draws or losses for Wycombe and Plymouth see them behind us anyway. We may as well go for it and keep it all in our own hands. IMO of course. Understand why other might see it differently.

As I've said before this season more than any other I can remember, other results have consistently gone against us.

We can't afford to expect that will change this weekend. Those teams around us have been quite relentless in their pursuit of the top 6. We need to keep the upper hand.

I’m always baffled by managers for us

and playing for a draw in this situation is the sort of thing I’ve seen

i am a bit worried we might set up for a draw
