Apologies if this is the wrong section, please move if necessary (just wanted to reach as many people as possible) Season ticket holder, long term reader but never post. 2 weeks ago - unexpectedly and suddenly, our friend Danny Campbell passed away at the age of 49. Danny leaves a fiancé Kirsty, two daughters and an extended family behind. Danny is a Hillsborough lad, played for us as a young un, is a lifelong Wednesdayite and is well known in local non-league circles - having played for Worksop Town, Hallam FC and a number of other clubs over the years. He also played Sundays in the Meadowhall League for the best part of 20 years, mainly for Royal Earl FC. A regular in The Castle, Park Hotel and on Hillsborough Corner, if you've had a drink round Hillsborough, you'll probably know DC. Danny would have been at the game this Saturday, his kids will be there on the North Stand. The clubs has agreed to show the image below on the screen at 49mins. I know that we always rise to the occasion when requests like this come in, it would be amazing gesture and to his friends and family if a packed Hillsborough could possibly send him off in style by offering an applause on 49 mins. I worked with Danny a long time ago and he played for our 5 a side team at Pitz, an absolute cut above anything I'd been on the pitch with at any time. We went from bottom of the table to winning every week - you could not get the ball off him. One of the nicest guys you'd ever wish to meet, kind of lad that always brought a smile to your face and lit a room up. Such a young age to go, condolences to all who knew him.
