Absolutely different class tonight. The second half of this season he has been phenomenal. Being pushed further forward has really unlocked another level for him. That nearly goal would have been one of the most special goals I'd have seen in years at any level.

You think it was a shot?

He has tried to chip the keeper at the far post like that in at least one other game this season (though I couldn't tell you this one, I believe on the opposite side of the box).

It is 100% a shot. Watch it again. There's a small element of "put in an area" for sure, but he's gone for a dink over the keeper who he knows has been drawn to the near post from his check back. It's an absolute class piece of play... speculative for sure, but intentional no doubt

Fantastic player for us and arguably our best midfielder since Sheridan in the way he runs the game.

Would be intrigued to see how he would have fared playing in a slower paced league with more time on the ball such as La Liga or Seria A earlier in his career.

It was a shot, surprised anyone could think otherwise.

I was behind the goal and it was absolutely a shot, he glanced at the keeper's position before chipping it. How the follow ups stayed out, 3 times,  was just typical of our luck.
