Popular Post Lord Snooty
Quite simply it has to be a win. I know, I know, there's 76921734219 different permutations of what can happen this last week. But there's no point leaving it to chance. We must get out there and put these to the sword. We can't be umming and ahhing and "Well if Wycombe lose we only need a couple of score draws." No! We must go out there and take it out of the oppositions hands. We must seize the chance. Seize the game "I'd rather have the points than a game in hand" is the old saying isn't it. Well, obviously we'd rather have the points. But we haven't have we. But we must, MUST look at this game in hand tonight as an opportunity to put ourselves back in the driving seat. Wycombe go to Burton on Saturday and we need to be ahead of them before then. Pressure gets to teams, and the last thing we want is going into Portsmouth desperate for a result and 'hoping other results go our way'. The tension at Hillsborough will be palpable. The nettle must be grasped and it must be grasped tonight. Those players have to go there tonight and give every ounce. Strain every sinew. Leave it all on the park. We must match their drive, and their endeavour and then make our extra quality count. And we do have quality. Bannan, a player any club in the division would want in their side. Gregory, as wily a finisher as you'll see at this level. Luongo, the most adept ball winning midfielder in the division and one most of the Championship wouldn't mind having. Byers, a composed and measured ball player with quality of touch and pass and a tendency to pop up in the box with a goal. A vital knack. Marvinho, Hunt, Mendez-Laing. Berahino- Once subject of £17m bids! Oh yes. We have that quality. Quality that will be back vociferously by some of the most passionate away supports in football. We have to match these lot in the other stuff and then turn the screw. Do that. Win your battles. Stand up to be counted and then show your extra beans! Win , we put ourselves in the driving seat. "Games in hand mean nothing" But they represent the opportunity to stake your claim. They put you in the position of having your fate in your own hands. Grasp it lads. Grasp it with both hands. SEIZE THE MOMENT! ------------------------------ -------------------------------------------------------- Fleetwood Town V Sheffield Wednesday Tuesday 26th April 19:45 Kick Off Home 19/4 29/10 Away 8/15 ----------------------------------------------------------- FLEETWOOD Fleetwood are again set to be without Harrison Holgate and Jordan Rossiter due to injury, and after Paddy Lane was stretchered off having also been red-carded at Gillingham last week, the Northern Ireland international is not expected to feature. While Joe Garner will be hoping his heroics from the bench can now earn him a spot in the first XI, Ellis Harrison has notched three goals in his last six games and should spearhead the Cod Army's attack once again Cairns Macadam Nsiala Jules Andrew Batty Camps Pilkington Hayes Harrison Harrop ----------------------------------------------------------- WEDNESDAY After making four changes to freshen up his team for their third game in a week, Sheffield Wednesday manager Darren Moore has stated that the quartet that did not feature against Wycombe will come back into contention for Tuesday's game. Therefore, George Byers and Liam Palmer are back in contention along with Jack Hunt and Callum Paterson. Harlee Dean has overcome a calf injury and is also available, but Josh Windass - who sustained a hamstring injury last month - is unlikely to be involved just yet. Willie Henderson
Perfect, absolutely perfect, thank you Lord! Any chance of you popping onto the team coach and reading that out, word for word, all Kenneth Brannah like? Brommers
I'm in the home end so I'd be more than happy with a 97th minute 1-0 winner, when hopefully all their fans will have left so I can go mental without putting myself in danger. 2

Willie Henderson
Good grief! They'd soil their undergarments. But if it works? then watching the players sheepishly and uncomfortably disembark from the coach would be well worth it for three points.

They'd leap from the coach windows, sending glass showering everywhere, shower bags swinging like modern day berserkers. 1

But we do need to get some fire in their bellies, no doubt about that.
striker
Results unpredictable at this time of the season. But, a game we should, and need to win in order to keep things in our own hands. No excuses really, we've enough options to put out a strong team capable of winning this game. 0-2 Wednesday, I'm strangely optimistic ( I still think we will finish 4th)

CircleSeven
I feel relatively calm for no reason I can really say. I’ve enjoyed the season so much more than I thought I would and things coming down to the last couple of games seems exactly appropriate. Draw tonight for us and a loss for Sunderland. It’s all leading to a four team shootout on the final day for the last three places! I say Bring it On!
