Popular Post StarmanNWC
OK, so picture the scene. Wednesday wind up with a 1-1 draw against a Fleetwood side that would be out of the bottom 4 with that score. At the same time, Sunderland slip up and lose to Rotherham 1-0, all but sealing toytown’s promotion. Then the table with one game to go looks like this… 4 Plymouth PTS 80 GD +25 GS 68 5 Sunderland PTS 80 GD +24 GS 77 6 Sheff Wed PTS 80 GD +24 GS 72 ————————————————————- 7 Wycombe PTS 80 GD +23 GS 73 4 teams, separated by 2 goals of goal difference where every team could win and year any could miss out. Has there ever been a situation quite as nuts as that?

Willie Henderson
The good news is that three out of the four go into the playoffs. The bad news is...well you know what the bad news is. 2
N0rtherner
I'm thinking it would be the alternative where we twerk our way into the play offs in the final game of the season. Sorry, where's my hat, I'll be off now.

Has there ever been a situation quite as nuts as that? The downside to Rotherham winning is that MK would then have nothing to play for at Plymouth. They could well rest their entire team in readiness for the play offs.Think I'd take a Rotherham draw at Sunderland, but it's hard to call. A Rotherham 6-0 win at Sunderland though would help with the goal difference calculations. Ideally we score several at Fleetwood and give us a situation where a draw would be likely enough.

Would your opinion of Darren Moore be the same if we missed out. Would you still be heaping credit on him even though we missed out.

I don't 'heap credit on him' mate I just take the emotion of the situation and look at things from as neutral a perspective as possible He's a manager who came in under impossible circumstances, had to bolt a new side together and try to stabilise the club and turn it around He's doing that The fact he will or won't get promoted this season doesn't change that If we go up it will be an incredible achievement against all odds If we don't he will undoubtedly have another crack next season and will probably be more successful at it Either way there's no heaping of credit on him - just saying well done for what he's done to date which is more than justified 23 1 1 Owlstalk Shop

Teams everyone thinks are going to do well, never do, everyone was running scared of Ipswich with Paul Cook before a ball was kicked this season and look how that ended up Derby won't be nowhere near promoted, they'll be lucky to kick off the season way things are going Plus our spending embargo is done, we can buy players again for actual real life money. 2
alanharper
Draw at Fleetwood to move level in points with the other 3 teams, but we're 6th, a single goal ahead of the Wycombe cheats. They're all winning by a single goal, which means that only a Wednesday win will do to get us in the playoffs. Having raced into a comfortable 3 goal lead, Wednesday being Wednesday allow Pompey to score twice in the last 5 minutes with a George Hirst brace. 98th minute, Portsmouth get awarded a dubious penalty. All the other games have finished, so the season is all on this kick. Up steps Hirst... Is that butt twitching enough for you?
Hyde2005
Watch us in just about every away game this season like myself , along with a few drab home games lately crewe Accrington etc you won't have any belief whatsoever that we will succeed. Most regular travelling fans so so expected that yesterday. Fleetwood have possibly the worst form In the last 2 months than any team in England yet we are expecting a struggle again. We have become so used to mediocrity and been let down. 3

Baldrick
Could realistically have all the 4 teams lose their final game and then comes down to goal difference/scored I’ll have us to lose 1-0 and all the others 5-
