Jim
I said very early in Moore’s reign that he reminded me a bit of Big Ron. Man management skills, recruitment, style of play, managed WBA etc. I think he’ll be a very good manager for us, the experts on here don’t but then again they rated Monk 6

When we were doing bad people on here were saying it was because we had a poor squad - bottom half of League one at best - we would do well to stay up. I was also told that there are at least 10 players in this league better than Bannan. So either we have one of if not the best squads and players in the league who were underperforming OR we have a poor squad which Moore is working wonders with. Consider this before you dish out the humble pie. I know which direction I would be pushing the plate!
Forza SPAL
And not to forget we got 81 pts in the Championship in 2016/17 (Carvalhal). So Moore is currently fourth to Megson/Jones, Carvalhal, Big Ron.

jonnyowl
I think the reason why we've had an upturn in form in the second half of the season is for a few reasons. Were a passing team and play out from the back and players that can't pass havent been in the team. Dunkley got injured, in comes Storey, whose much better as a ball playing defender. Byers Luongo and Bannan all very comfortable on the ball and have controlled alot of games, its also allowed Bannan to play further forward. Johnson moved to left wing back, been brilliant since he moved there but another player technically very good. Berahino getting fitter and finding form, but not just the goals he's scored, he's very good and dropping off and linking the play up, something he's much better than Paterson at, Gregory back fit has also made a massive difference. Our one problem this year is not being ruthless enough against sides in the bottom half, if that was sorted we'd run away with this league. 5

On this basis, Moore’s overall win rate is 42% putting him eighth in the all time manager list. If however you look at this season’s league games he scores a very respectable 51% and second but still some way behind Harry Catterick’s 55.8% all of which was achieved at higher level.
Popular Post Kelfin Platz
Doesn't surprise me one bit. We've got ourselves a gem. Blokes been like a breath of fresh air since he came and gets little credit for the transformation and recruitment he had to perform at the end of last season/beginning of this. Yes, it took a bit of time to get the team performing, it always does when a new group gets assembled and whilst being hampered by a rake of injuries to boot. He also looks to have added some interest and direction for the younger players as well. Long may it last. 14
Popular Post leftpeg
As much as Moore Seems to have finally crafted a squad, team and system capable of entertaining us and getting wins, he deserves just as much credit (along with Aforementioned Barry Bannan) for lifting the black clouds and healing a VERY real rift between club and supporters in such a short space of time. Everyone says all they want is a team that tries hard, a bit of ambition and blah blah blah, they get that and suddenly its not good enough. I was unconvinced by Moore early this season like many, it took a long time to get going under him and for a while it looked like mid table was the best we would do. But after the new year, the way he addressed weaknesses so well in the window (keep in mind he had very little freedom to do so in the first window) and the way he has the team playing with pride. IF we go up this season, I would like to see him given backing and barring utter disaster atleast 3 years to craft a championship side. IF we dont, I want to give him next season to see if he can make his mark and judge it after that. Either way, Big Darren Moore fan right here now. 10 4

Luke
Think it's a bit of a false stat You need to take on board what division they was managing in A manager is bound to do better in league 1 than a manager is going to do in the Championship or Premier league You can only compare Moore to our league one managers atm 3

Amazing to think of the job he did at Donny too, considering where they are now.
