Johnson

Recommended Posts

He’s been great. Works so he’s for the team.

It’s weird thinking back to the start of the season and who we were all most excited about watching. I reckon most were more excited about Corbeanu and Shodipo than Marv. We were also more excited about Wing than Byers. Crazy to think that now. It goes to show you how hard it is when you have to make so many changes in one transfer window.

Player of the season for me.

I know Bannan etc but hes just a cheat in this league. Johnson has been one hell of a signing.

Bannan is also a quality player but you expect it from him. I didn't know what to expect from Johnson.

I have been very impressed. Also shows you don't have to go spaffing money on stupid transfer fees in today's game to be successful. Much preferred our signings strategy last pre-season.

Thank you EFL lol

Playing him & Hunt at WB has been one of the biggest instigators for our upturn in form.

Wingers at WB didn’t look balanced enough and I thought NML & Corbeanu for as good as they looked going forward both looked unnatural when the system became a back 5.

Hope they’re both here next season regardless of division.

He's like a combination between Ross Wallace and Daniel Pudil from our first season under Carlos, only with a touch more pace.

He's everything that I hoped Reach would be to be honest.

Great business on a free transfer.

Suppose the question is. Does Moore have an eye for a good player?

We've been playing variations of this formation for years without proper wingbacks.

Both Hunt and Johnson have been excellent and goes to show the value of having players who can actually play the wingback role, not just doing a job.

I think mostly yes. But like with most managers it can be a bit hit and miss at times, they sometimes gamble and it doesn't pay off.

Berahino rediscovering some form with us too.

Moore is currently getting performances out of players. Sometimes annoys me with team changes but on the whole is doing well.

Great signing!!!

He's brilliant in his preferred role, but he is willing to play whereever the team needs him.

I hate to see defenders taking risks like that so near to our penalty area.

Except when it comes off perfectly and embarrasses the opposition player, in which case it's bloody marvellous!

That's how I see it as well.  In the top six that's what I hoped for at the start of the season, steady as she goes.

Undoubtedly, yes.

Given the restrictions we were operating under, I think he's brought some cracking signings to the club.

Gregory has been just what we needed since Fletcher left; Berahino has got pelters on here for most of the season, but Moore has stuck with him and he's now a vital part of the squad; Byers has been a revelation since he returned to fill fitness; Johnson the same at wingback; Hunt has been as good as many suspected he'd be; Adeniran has had his injury issues, but looks a very promising acquisition on a free; Dean and Storey have been great at the back, as has Gibson when he's featured; Peacock-Farrell has been a massive step up from what we had last season; Corbeanu was very raw, but brought something to the table...

Sow and Kamberi have had their moments and are decent squad players.

The only ones who've not shown much thus far are Brown, who started okay but faded badly, and Shodipo and John-Jules, who've both been injured for most of their time here.

I'd even go so far as to say that Wing was nowhere near as bad as many on here made out, but he didn't reach the heights he should have.

Thought he did a fine job standing in a centre back and a few on here we’re over critical in my opinion

he stood in well

And is an extremely consistent player being effective on the left

never injured, always running, great delivery, and can defend

7/10 minimum every week that lad what’s not to like

Proper made me laugh this, another occasion Corbeanu actually ran off the pitch to evade one of our players
