Lewis Wing red card today

Recommended Posts

When it comes to the length of any suspension period, it is dependent on the nature and seriousness of the foul, as follows:

For a sending off, after a second yellow in one game, the suspension period is one match.

For a so-called professional foul, a player will also receive a one-match ban.

If the foul in question is dissent, it will normally be a two-match ban.

If we are talking about violent conduct, the punishment is normally a three-match ban.

so it depends if the refs report deemed it as violent conduct. It was a reckless challenge. Two footed off the ground. I’d say it’s violent conduct.

Fair enough I just thought it was one for that sort of thing .

If the ref saw it as reckless then it would only have been a yellow

Seeing as we've got some expertise on here, can anyone comment on why Kachunga wasn't sent off yesterday for the foul on Hunt?  Immediately after not getting a red, Kachunga won the corner that led to the goal.  As soon as he won the corner, the inevitability of the outcome had me watching open mouthed in horror and despair.

No - just too good

The referee saw (quite rightly) that having Lewis Wing in their side gave them a huge massive unfair advantage - almost to the point of cheating - so sent him off to even the game up a bit

Had the same feeling listening on radio, when they were saying he has to go for his reaction, just knew he'd be involved in the equaliser, lo and behold he seems to immediately win the corner they score from. Not seen the incident though and nobody seems to have mentioned it so just assumed the commentators got it wrong.
