Saturday 9th April games - Who will drop points?

Recommended Posts

Bolton will be tough. Their record from the last 17 games is W10 D4 L3 which is 2pts per game - automatic promotion form. Although they’ve only won 2 out the last 7 both against struggling sides so they seem to have gone slightly off the boil. Nevertheless I’d be okay with a point.

Plymouths is a must-win cos their remaining fixtures after Burton are very tough.

Fancy Wycombe to win again and Oxford/Sunderland to draw.

Obviously at least one of the teams in the Oxford v Sunderland match will drop points. I cant see Wigan dropping points at Lincoln, Lincoln were "up" for us, we are fairly local to them, they rarely play us, they'll be Wednesday fans in and around Lincoln and we are a big club in their eyes. They won't have that incentive with Wigan and Lincoln have little to play for. I think this is our biggest match of the season, at Bolton. Bolton usually want to do well against us, they think they are as big as us so their fans get up for it, their form is good. If we lose then we go into the MK game knowing a loss gives us squeeky bum time for sure. My comfort is that it's never easy to predict so hopefully we will turn that on its head and come away winners. A victory won't guarantee the play offs, but will be such a big step towards it, given we have Crewe at home, who may already be relegated by the time we play them.  Somewhere between 77/82 points should get 6th place, given the number of matches the top 8 are playing each other.

Always easier to see your own team dropping points with rivals playing ‘easier’ teams. There’s not many of the top 8 losing at all.

obviously Oxford and/or Sunderland will drop points. I think we’ll get a point or 3 at Bolton, they had a tough game last night so that’s got to help us.

Could really do with winning this. If we win and Sunderland/Oxford draw, then it’s set up where we’re 5 clear of Oxford with a game in hand and 4 clear of Sunderland.

MK Dons then becomes a free hit. We should then beat Crewe. That would guarantee we go into the last 3 games in the top 6 even if everyone else wins.

Wycombe is a tough game, still got to do the business against Fleetwood and Portsmouth.

Think we need 1 win out of the next 2 to be in a good place and Bolton is easier than MK Dons. If we don’t win either we’ll probably end up chasing and would go as far to say that I think we might then end up rolling over at Wycombe and it being over then.

See the same. Our away form is not just appalling we have played poor in nearly all the wins .we have never looked convincing away from home. Bolton is huge forget a draw we need to win this game.

Some of those fixtures involve those not yet safe or fighting relegation eg Wimbledon, Gillingham, Lincoln so it’s not easy to predict. Banana skins everywhere you turn! If we get at least a point at Bolton I’ll be happy, but we should be trying to pinch all three points, a cheeky smash and grab 1-0 will do for me cocker!

It doesn’t happen to me very often; however, I think we have the win in us on Saturday. I think the players will want to make a statement and like the way Lincoln lifted themselves, I think we will do the same. We will be at full strength, volume in the tank, backed by 5k vociferous Owls and full of confidence. Bolton will run out of steam, 0-2 to the Owls.

I also think Oxford Sunderland will have a winner. Hopefully Oxford.

It’s at this point in the season where our away form might bite us on the arse! I could see a win, loss or draw on Saturday for us, it depends on which Wednesday turn up. The confident, attacking Wednesday or the nervous error prone Wednesday.

I think Sunderland will get a result against Oxford and all other top 7 teams will win. It’s going to be tense!

I think Bolton will have a go at us which will in turn give us room to play.  This will be a welcome relief from what we have come up against in recent weeks and we will exploit the extra room and win...............................I hope.  Same with M K, we will have room to play and man for man we are better and we will beat them.

I'm looking forward to your predictions!

I guess Wigan (draw), Sunderland (loss) and Rotherham (draw) will drop some points.

MK Dons to win at Wimbledon.

Plymouth to beat Burton.

Wycombe to draw at Gillingham.

Wigan to draw at Lincoln.

Oxford to beat Sunderland.

Rovrum to draw at home to Charlton.

Wednesday to bag the 3 points at Bolton. 😎
